As mentioned before I get loss of sound when playing lossy DD 5.1 audio on pause\restart. I notice that it also happens when connected to my AVR using Bluetooth headphones. The output is Bluetooth stereo but the audio loss is just the same.

I'm leaning in that direction myself. Today I tried to watch a movie with my daughter and it was a headache.

my Z3000 pro been much better since the the firmware.. actually before firmware started to work better once I replace my hdmi switch box, still got some odd glitchy flicker on everything.. found out that when I pulled out the old switch box I partially unseeded my power cord from the back of the zidoo, so corrected that..
the firmware seems to fix issues I had with 1080p content.. (older tv shows) All the movies I watched over the weekend.. DV or just HDR played without issues, some movies were over 3 hours and played fine (would freeze before).. one thing it still does.. but little better now was after long
pause and resume, less glitchy (stutter) I never had issues with audio delay, Audio system is Sony HT-A9M2 if anyone was wondering. So for me, the last firmware was a step in the right direction, still not where it should be, but getting there.

Same here - the only issue that still remains for me seems to be stutter (dropped frames?) in LLDV (SDR white levels aside for the moment).

I wonder if the those using the custom edid feature have less issues (re-syncs etc etc)? With everything on, I save my edid, then load that edid as my custom edid, so the box always see my amp/tv as on regardless if it's off etc etc.

    Just thinking outloud again....

My TP-Link Deco X50 is reserving the IP for the Zidoo and it's the same system from the first installation of my AML boxes. I've noticed a slowdown from 1.2.01 and now getting worse. Zidoo and NAS take few seconds to negotiate (missing posters and fanarts at the beginning) but if you like to play a movie earlier than 2-3min (just certain long time although could be less) it will take 25-30sec to start or simply won't.

Didn't you notice a slowdown in last two firmwares?

    Hi,

This is not the Zidoo, but the movie and its encoding.
The result is exactly the same when playing from the disc on my Oppo.

    Hi all,
I just watched Acts of Vengeance (2017). As a Bluray in the form of an ISO. It was a 1080p MPEG-4 AVC Video with DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound. It was perfect.
Not to rub salt in the wound, I am still on firmware 1.1.70.
Why is playback from a carrier like this good on this firmware and not on newer ones? And why can't they keep it like this? At least from what I read in your posts.

The problem is not with HD movies which works fine (I'm with firmware 1.2.01) except DTS-HD sync issue for some people (like me!) but with UHD movies and Dolby Vision.

    Thank you for verifying.
(Now I need an other movie to test firmware and settings )

should have stayed on 1.1.70 like I was doing but I was curious about sharpen options and they dont do much to remove oversharpening.

Folks think I am nuts, but I have duplicate HDD's of all my media. I am too damn old to try to get this stuff again.

You are not nuts at all. Ironically I was backing up the HDD to a new one when the issue happened. I think it was a short or issue with the USB connector so both drives got borked. Someone on another site I am on offered to try and help me possible recover the data since I think it might still be on there but there is no header or something so it doesn't load in windows but he has been offline for a while.

I also lost 16TB of movies and TV shows but those are much easier to replace.

But your thinking is sound and wish I had done it sooner.

Perhaps, but on earlier firmwares, I did not notice the stutter and audio issues. A bad hardware would be bad regardless of firmware.

and I keep them on separate usb docks. So if one borks, I still have the other one. I also accidentally erased and entire drive once with the Zidoo which if you don't pay attention hit one wrong button and it wipes the drive.

They have enough problems right now, but eventually it would be nice if they made it VERY HARD to accidentally reformat a drive in Zidoo. It is far to easy now.

There are programs, such as R-Studio, that allow you to recover files and even the folder structure (in most cases) if the HDD is not physically broken (fully functional) and nothing was written over the lost files.

I keep the discs and 1 off site backup for everything I've ripped from disc. Then 2 backups, 1 of them offsite, for everything I've gotten through other means. I'd ideally like 2 backups of the disc stuff too, because I can't imagine re-ripping thousands of discs, but was a cost cutting measure.

I've tried to convince a few people to mirror my storage for another backup out there but no takers.
