Thing is I never have any third party apps installed whatsoever, so whatever is going on in my box is what came out the factory, and I've seen it.

Call it a process of elimination then :p
Just to see if adding apps /apps running in background make it worse

TBH ,it all still feels more Hardware related ,than s/w

I still wonder if there was a batch of HDMI "ports" sent out that arent quite cutting the musterd

As an example ,when HDMI 2.1 came out ,there was a large amount of slightly faulty hdmi control chips sent out that didnt match the full hdmi2.1 bandwidth specs ,and thus wernt able to fully play 4k DV DA content/4k 120 without stutters etc(going from mem here so some wiggle room :p )
IE certain Denon 3700h models produced over a specified time could have this issue (as well as similar MArantz and other companies that recieved the underwhelming controllers
Denon even went so far as to produce an HDMI adapter box for those owners that were going to get an XBOX X /playstation 5 and wanted that 4k 120 range (i grabbed one but dont use on the amp since i sold my XBOX X (im a pc gamer for life )

Hardware issue like this might be intermittent and maybe also explain how flakey the HDMI is for handshaking

Maybe we could narrow devices down to batches ? to see if theres something showing there

I closed ZDMC and PlexToZidoo and cleared with clear manager and played my files with the media manager and it's hard to get stutters in the LOTR clip now so it seems better.

I played normal movies with the media manager and I still get stutters in LLDV.

TV LED modes still stutters more than LLDV.

DTS audio delay still there and even TrueHD seems a little off to me now. Maybe I'm imagining that last part.

I also was able to play that LOTR clip 4-5 times without stutters in a fresh boot of ZDMC + PlexToZidoo but then it started stuttering again.

It's possible ZDMC + PlexToZidoo makes things worst a little but all this looks like a software problem of some kind. Maybe buffer overflow like some of you guys said before.

I would not install this version, it brings more problems than good. Better wait for the next version in the hope that something will be improved.

My initial enthusiasm is miserably collapsed like a castle made of cards. Suddenly last night, as if by magic, stuttering reappeared, first on a DV + DD video and then on a DV + Atmos/ THD. Now, after about a year from the purchase, I wonder: if I have to constantly fight with the stammering video playback and I even have to recode the VC-1 files in order to be able to see them correctly, not to mention the worsening Posterwall interface, why did I buy this box? Menomal that I always have my trusted UB9000 that reads everything well, even the records made of pizza!

Anyone facing this? I can't seek some videos now without restarting the player.. It just keeps playing without seeking/jumping.

I’ve encountered so many problems with this device that I was completely frustrated last night and decided to switch back to Apple TV + Infuse + Auro 3D instead.

Here are the main issues I’ve experienced:
    1. Subtitle Issues – Sometimes, the device fails to find Estonian subtitles, even though Infuse detects them without any problems.
    2. Frequent Crashes – The Home Theater app randomly crashes, and when reopened, it takes around 30 seconds to recognize SMB shares again.
    3. Match Frame Rate Problems – Enabling Match Frame Rate causes audio to go out of sync. Also, when enabled, it takes 15 seconds for the picture to appear, while the audio starts immediately.
    4. HDMI CEC Issues – The device does not turn on my Marantz Cinema 40 properly, and volume control is delayed.
    5. Browsing Lag – Scrolling through movies is frustrating because the last row of posters constantly reloads. I even installed an M.2 NVMe SSD to try and improve performance, but it didn’t fix the issue. (Yes, I understand caching improves speed, but I still think this behavior is unacceptable.)
    6. Trakt Sync Issues – When syncing with Trakt, the “Resume Watching” section flickers and behaves erratically.
    7. Playback Position Not Remembered – If I turn off the device without pausing the movie first, the “Continue Watching” feature does not remember the correct position.
    8. Random Audio Dropouts – Occasionally, there is no audio, and I have to rewind the movie to restore it.
    9. Tidal App Issues – The app crashes randomly, and it has problems with Atmos playback and general stability.

I’m sure I’ve missed other issues, but these are the most frustrating ones so far.

    The Only Positives:
    Nice-looking poster wall
    Subtitle customization
    Proper audio passthrough

However, I paid €650.- for the Z3000, plus 50% import tax to Thailand, making it around €975 in total. At this price point, the performance is extremely disappointing.

I truly hope software updates will address these issues, because this device should function much better for the price.

Can move the slider for playback position but when pressed the playback does not move to that position anymore (playing any BD ISO). It is one of the features most used by me.

Tried many BD Menu's and processing looks to me really improved. :)
Did not see a DVD file/ISO that would not play at all but did not try many yet.

Until now, I didn't say anything, but since the latest beta, it's gotten worse..........
The stuttering in LLDV is becoming more and more common, and the Home Theater app crashes randomly. Once reopened, it takes about 30 seconds to recognize SMB shares again, and this has been the case since the beginning, but it's getting faster with the latest firmware!
I think we should ask the technicians to look at the "Ethernet/SMB" side.......I don't know if the Ziddoo has an Ethernet card. If so, see if there's a bug!

Same here, I owned the Z3000 for 2 months and had issues with the DTS audio being out of sync and that was the deal breaker for me, luckily was able to get a returns approved for a full refund and switched to my trusted APTV+Infuse. I've given up waiting now and I'm glad I did as almost one year on this player is still riddled with bugs. I have been following the forums and it seems this AMlogic chip was a bad move for the industry, most of the players with this chip have too many issues, whereas the Realtek chip was much more stable, think Zidoo need to drop AMlogic on revert back to Realtek on the next one...

Not sure why, but yes, search on the timeline behaviour has changed - if you press OK after searching, it cancels the operation as if you had pressed the Return key.

    I've raised the issue.

If you just search and release the arrow key, it will move to the selected position after approx 1s.

Unfortunately I think Realtek stopped producing STB SOCs.

The SMB slow start communication is something has gotten worse in last fw although it was already a buggy point. The slow pairing with source like NAS is faulty either by Ethernet cable or WiFi, like my case. My box needs like 2-3min to complete reading the NAS db (WiFi), otherwise if you start a movie earlier either it won't play or it will just freeze.

Moving to a new chip always comes with new challenges. The move to the last Realtek BDP chip was neither without such troubles as I recall.
The main areas where this chip lets us structurally down seems to be BD-3D and VC1 playback.

The other problems should be solvable in FW as far as I see. Went myself as far as to order a Dune HD Max 8K to see if that is more stable for my specific use including using their basic features only Music Player. TCXO clocking used for HDMI output should potentially sound great combined with my Onkyo TX-RZ70 (Sabre DAC plus DIRAC room correction).

I'm not so sure about your statement (NAS connection is due to an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi problem) because my entire installation was revised with category 7 and 8 cables, and no WI-FI at home!!!!!

I think the SMB protocol is faulty in both ways as I had an Ethernet cable in previous fw almost with same behavior as my actual settings of WiFi6

That sounds very much like what happens if you have duplicate IP addresses. Equally it could be a Wifi issue - if I was producing media boxes like these, they wouldn't have Wifi at all!!

One thing I've never had a problem with is network connectivity and 2-3 minutes to connect to a NAS is crazy, but I doubt the issue is the box.
