I agree, but as I say I doubt it's the box.

Not dismissing it, but I have a robust network (and it's only CatV) with mostly fixed IPs (only use DHCP for transient devices - mobile devices etc), I have no IP conflicts, two subnets and a guest network and as I say, zero issues. I have managed switches and over 100 clients attached at any one time so I regularly check things are as I expect them to be with a network sniffer.

I know most people's networks won't be anything like as complicated but a little housekeeping goes a long way... Use fixed IPs, have a dedicated DHCP range and NEVER use it for fixed IPs and keep a note - a simple text file - of what device has what IP address.

I feel the OTA process was stopped. Used a manual update myself (McBluna).

All the more reason for me to pick up an older Realtek then! I was considering a 1619BPD since I do sometimes miss not having atmos audio from the APTV+Infuse....but I just love how elegant the APTV+Infuse combination is that I forget about the overhead channels when watching something....

WiFi is OK for MP3 or even FLAC audio playback. It is mostly adequate for Free To Air TV content, which is typically under 20 Mbit/s or in places like Australia even under 2Mbit/s. !).

WiFi is not a good solution for UHD video, especially if you want to seek/skip through the file. Even with a wired network, NAS performance can get in the way. I've noticed the occasional dropped frames the other day, while the NAS server was running a network backup at the same as a BTRFS scrub. Latency spikes on the order of 2,000 ms are bound to become evident.

I've seen people have issues with SMB on networks where there are no reliable name resolution services. Lack of a proper DNS server that integrates with DHCP combined with two machines competing to be the SMB browse master is a recipe for headaches. Unfortunately a lot of ISP provided/managed routers are surprisingly badly behaved/configured.

There is definitely something totally wrong with your device because I don't have any of these problems.
The only problems I have are some visual bugs.

I have read that some other users have example these issues also.

    1. Frequent Crashes – The Home Theater app randomly crashes, and when reopened, it takes around 30 seconds to recognize SMB shares again.
2.Match Frame Rate Problems – Enabling Match Frame Rate causes audio to go out of sync. Also, when enabled, it takes 15 seconds for the picture to appear, while the audio starts immediately.
    3. Random Audio Dropouts – Occasionally, there is no audio, and I have to rewind the movie to restore it.

Hello, I have always liked to try different multimedia players and I have bought almost all of them: Zidoo, Dune, Zappiti, and now the last one to buy is the R_volution. Currently at home I have the zidoo x9pro 8k, the zidoo uhd 5000 and now the R_Volution Pro 8k. I have to say that the most stable of all is the R_Volution since it has no errors when playing any file and it also does not fail when opening any ISO and as for the PQ it is very similar if not the same. I think the Zidoo thing is regrettable. This player was supposedly released after two years of preliminary work, and almost a year after its release, it still has simple bugs like playing some files and numerous audio codec issues. The saddest thing is that these issues were also present in the previous series with the BPD chip, and they're still there... I'm convinced this isn't just a software issue, but also a hardware issue... both the previous series and this one... how do you explain that some users have some issues and others don't with the same firmware...
I'm clear that I won't buy Zidoo again.
For now, I'll stick with the R_volution, as at least I can watch any movie in my collection without any video or audio interruptions. Best regards,
    Long life and prosperity.

My Network is using dynamic IP (Deco is reserving the IP for each device) and WiFi (300/300Mbps D/U) is the same from the box installation. SMB seems to work much slower for my system over the NAS when it’s waking up from sleep mode. Then either you wait 2-3min or Zidoo is unable to play a movie, unlike previous stable firmwares.

I don't like allocating IP addresses by MAC addresses because you're still using the DHCP server - I'd definitely set proper fixed IP addresses.

My NAS drives sleep, but this does not affect HT because the resource is still advertised on the network and if I start a file on a NAS that's sleeping, it takes 16s to start (I just timed it). Of course if the NAS is not asleep, the file starts immediately.

Does someone have the blu-ray of Curiosa.
I have a few stutter at 18 minutes when they escape the tent and drive away on the bike
The bitrate goes from 50 to 123 in a blink. After that smooth again.

(Iso blu-ray/UHD/DV/h265/lldv only frame rate matching)

Has anyone used AliExpress to buy a Zidoo media player shipped from China to the UK before? Is it exactly the same spec/quality players?

Reason I ask is AliExpress are celebrating their 15year anniversary with big discounts codes, thinking of pulling the trigger on a Realtek 1619 Z2000pro, discounts of £72 off which brings the Z2000 pro to £309 shipped and customs declared as 100usd so no additional customs or vat charges…seems like a good deal to me…had enough of waiting for the issues to be resolved on the Z3000!
