@Markswift2003 can you please try all usb ports on your device

I take you have tried a small usb stick on all ports just to test all ports function & read etc

If other ports and not working poss internal cable to motherboard may have come disconnected during transit but there normally glued in etc

@Markswift2003 @Nice Monkey @DELUCAS OK new discovery guys.. If I take the usb cable and put in in, HALFWAY, into the USB port it detects my drives!

So seems it's a faulty build? Should I return it and get a replacement?

    I'd try different cables first.

I did. It's something with the ports on the Z9X. Same cables I used on the pro.

Does not sound as correct. The question is if all connectors are like this or just a bad series being used?
For me this is a valid reason for a RMA procedure. Plugs should work when being plugged-in 100%.

Hmm - I guess you need to draw your own conclusions, but I just tried all 5 UBS sockets and all worked fine, both with a cable and a USB stick plugged straight in.

    @Nice Monkey @Markswift2003
So when I plug it in halfway it detects it.. Then I can plug it in 100% afterwards and still connected and scanning library!

So I guess I can live with that. But I will watch a movie later and see if it disconnects then I will have to return it :(
    Thanks anyway guys

Be careful with conclusions there: USB3 ports may run in USB2 mode with reduced throughput when some pins get disconnected. You need to do speed tests.

Oh! How can I speed test on the Z9X??

Doing a write/read on an SSD gives excellent indications. USB2 will get stuck at 25 MByte/sec somewhere. Try with a good working USB2 port for a reference.
I am using Total Commander always indicating the transfer speed.

I know I am using USB 3.0 devices so should the speed test with total commander be run on the ZIDOO'S usb ports right?

Just start a RMA procedure. It might break after a while and then your waranty will be over.

    Hello,

I just saw that (unfortunately) the UHD8000 uses an active ventilation, hidden under the analog power supply board...

Given the airflow configuration, I think that this ventilation is mainly intended to help cool the hard drives, when they are used.

Would someone who knows the player well (maybe @Markswift2003 ?) or has it on hand, be kind enough to check the following points :

    - Is this fan connected to a temperature sensor that activates it only when needed ? Or does it run permanently as soon as the player is turned on ?

    - Is there an option in the settings, which allows to deactivate it and use the player in "Fanless mode" if no hard drive is installed inside ?

You have the option for Auto, Manual or Off for the fan.

I have mine on Auto, no hard drives, and as far as I know it's never come on - certainly never heard it.

FWIW, I also experience the same drop outs when I ripped some of the new Atmos Blu-ray discs (Fleetwood Mac Rumors, The Best of the Doors, Talking Heads Stop Making Sense) from Rhino to ISO or BDMV. MKV versions play just fine, but would like to use the BD menus to easily switch tracks.

Do you think it's related to the same issue with Disney discs?

Was meant just to measure USB2 speed of your HDD's with a PC as a reference.
There is an Android version too which worked on the old models.

Is the issue you have with Stop Making Sense the live concert recording? I have a full rip (BDMV folder) of the concert. Where do you experience drop outs? I can test my version.
