8K is kind of inevitable, but that's just the start - these boxes are a big step up in terms of performance, software, firmware and consistency.

They blow the competition out of the water. In every respect.

Yep, and Zidoo have spent a considerable amount of time and resources in development in bringing their platform to the AML SOC.

Not yet released and they already out perform all the competition in several key areas.

A LOT of work has gone into these boxes!

To give a bit of context and echo what I posted on AVS, Zidoo's 8K project was established in March 2022.

The project team was led by a number of senior engineers, including five decoding engineers and more than 20 system and application engineers.

After more than two years and over 600 days (and nights!), the result is that these machines are polished to an outrageous degree, making them the most complete media player ever.

I've been working with (and annoying!) the team for the last few months, in the final stages of development, to test every aspect I can possibly think of and help get these as bug free as any machine I've ever worked on.

I've been saying this for a while, but things are getting interesting again...

It's been extremely painful watching people make decisions about buying boxes recently, but I had to keep quiet until we were ready.

Buy one of these my friend ;)

Painfull for us too but yeah i get you could not say. If they are really polished and work without breaking bugs i will gladly get rid of that z9x pro to get a new one

It will be the same or worse unfinished shit as BPD.
Unfortunately, trust is lost very quickly and regaining it takes forever or is completely impossible

You haven't had one on your test bench for the last few months, so your opinion, as erudite and thoughtful as it is, is unfounded and incorrect.

Unfortunately not since Dolby do not allow it.

Ugoos and CE are a different market altogether - I certainly wouldn't have one in my cinema. Ok they've fettled FEL playback, but it's flakey as hell and not a viable solution for serious users - great for the hobbyist and very interesting, but with respect, not for serious users.

Yes. EDID support is the same with a few new and more useful ones included by default.

It clearly is getting the music player, remote control APP and library services used for Eversolo A6/A8. That is great news and a giant step ahead.
Yes there is no other valid choice than going for the Amlogic SOC's as they are the only remaining in this market for now.

This for sure will bring back Zidoo into the Media Player competition. Looking at just the cover and screen shots it must be a rack wide model.
Already visible it has a dedicated HDMI DSD/Audio port.
