Sorry not easy but maybe doable. The APK for Google Play Store and Google Services won't install at all.
Other APK's may work sideloading them. I will be keeping a list of working APP's also for the new players.

No, I meant the application apk, not the store itself!

It's not something I would ever personally use - I just need a sample to test.

If you have a short clip and can upload to Mega (or similar) you can PM me a link.

Is the Z9X 8K power supply still 'DC 12V 2A'?

@Markswift2003 Any chance the UI on these new players renders natively in 4K instead of 1080p (and then upscaled)? It's definitely "nice-to-have" and not a necessity, but it looks so much nicer on my Apple TV 4K and Kaleidescape, I'd love to have it on my Zidoo players as well.

Leaving aside the new features and compatibility with the Blu-ray menus, 8K and everything else..., my question is this: in terms of pure video quality, would there be many differences compared to the UHD3000?

Here is what interest me (since my Denon AVR supports them):
Does the new Model expected to support the following?
    1. Android/Google TV 64-Bit OS
    2. Passthrough Dolby Atmos over TrueHD
    3. Passthrough DTSHD-MA w/DTS:X
    4. IMAX Enhanced support {DTS:X Profile 2} (e.g. for Disney+ & for Kodi future proof that Box won't limit me when Kodi supports it)
    5. Aero 3D Support (for Kodi future proof that Box won't limit me) - Not sure this is relevant anymore as it is a dying technology
    6. HDR+ & Dolby Vision (all profiles or as close as possible that is available)
    7. Adjust refresh rate "On start/stop" (Kodi settings I need the Box to honor and execute. My TV supports it as it worked well on my Shield -> AVR -> TV)
    8. Widevine L1
    9. Netflix/Disney+ full capability Support on the highest available content at their platform (Video/Sound) without the TVBox limiting me.

As far as SOC is more powerful than BPD I'll be happy to get one soon!!

As with the previous models, will these be available on Amazon in the US? I would rather not order one that comes from the UK.

With the improved music player capabilities, are there any plans to make the new UHD8000 Roon Ready or Roon Tested? That would be huge for me as it could potentially allow me to get rid of not one, but two boxes…. my Panny UB-DP9000 4K Disc player and my Auralic Aries G2 Music streamer!

My guesses but I'm sure I'll be corrected!

    1. Its NOT Google TV. Its standard Android 11 without access to the google play store
2,3,4,5 All Zidoo boxes have HDMI audio bitstream passthrough. Therefore unaltered audio will be passed to your AV.
    6. Yes
    7. Yes. You can have framerate and\or resolution matching.
    8. I don't think so
    9. This (and other Zidoo boxes) are NOT designed for streaming. They are for local video and audio playback.

so will it actually play as Aero 3D/IMAX Enhanced? full pass through that my AVR will play those formats (my AVR supports them)?

I was hoping to have a one box rules them all.

Yes, but don't expect a paradigm shift. That will never happen - as far as picture quality goes the boxes are pretty much as good as it gets right now. But there are improvements you can easily see with test patterns.

Subjectively the BPD boxes were a marginal but notiecable improvement in real world image quality over the DR boxes and these boxes are the same over the BPD boxes.
