I use the same setup with two USB 3.0 5TB WD but I use a USB 3.0 hub and I never got more than 40 MB/s through the gigabit cable with samba. Scratching my head too why they can't go faster.

It's even stranger in my case, because on the first day I was actually getting the proper speeds. Yet without changing anything, I've been limited to 30 MB/s the next day and ever since.

welp it seems that the Z9X Pro samba speed issue is also present on the Z9X 8K...

Yes the drop outs start about 15 seconds or so in and continue throughout every 15-20 seconds or so. Not sure what the problem is or a setting needs to be changed (btw I have hdmi audio set to RAW) or my rips for ISO/ BDMV are wrong. Really not sure.

I also watch a lot of sub titled vids and your suggestions would be very nice.

Odd one as all lossless Atmos play fine (except for known issue with Disney titles).

Then it looks even worse than a Dune 8K player. There I have 30 - 40 MB/s only when I copy from Dune to my PC or NAS. When I save from the NAS or PC to the Dune, regardless of whether internal SSD or USB HDD, it usually fluctuates between approx. 60 - 90 MB/s. According to Dune support this is due to the Amlogic drivers and they want to improve it. This is what the transfer to a Dune 8K looks like:

You have a Realtek 2.5GB network card.
Change the card speed in the network card driver from 2.5GB to 1GB and see what the transfer will be then.

No, believe me, it won't change anything. Here is an example about a 10GB lightwave cable network card, exactly the same behaviour:

if you don't try you won't know.

Windows copy function doesn’t work fine when system got other operations in progress. I’d recommend you to use TeraCopy instead. Actually it goes through Windows system with ups and downs as well but much faster at the end.

There are no problems with 2.5 G or 10 G cards, the problem is in the media player and already confirmed by the manufacturer, I wrote that!

I have invested my time especially for you:

there are two main reasons why am I still using an Oppo-203 in my theater.. one is the ISO bluray menu support (which doesn't seem to be on par with the Oppo, from what I have read so far) and the other one is the Zoom functionality (to be able to press a button to fit a 16:9 image in a scope screen). Is there a "Zoom" functionality in this new box? my old Z9X didn't have it, so I don't have much hope.. but...

    Thanks!

Tried teracopy and changed speed from 2.5Gbps to 1 Gbps. Changed some Ethernet card options too like Offload etc but no good for me either. :(
@deibit from what I tried now I couldn't find a zoom function, only ratio changing.

It is not the Windows, its copy function works perfectly. The ups and downs are due to Amlogic or the implementation of Dune or Zidoo.

If Zidoo devs can't solve it on Z9X Pro, what gives confidence they will solve it on 8k? I just cancelled my Z9X 8K pre order.

Probably not very likely, but I still hope they at least try to fix it.

30 MB/s is about 1/3rd of the speed that I had on Nvidia Shield, and it feels painfully slow when transferring 4K Blu-rays...

I noticed a subtitle issue in Bluray ISO, if you change the size of the sub, the Bluray crash and get back to the movie description.
Position is not impacted by this bug. I guess subtitles in Full ISO Bluray are PGS ?

SRT are not impacted by this problem.

I own a Dune, and I also cancelled a new Zidoo in good time. For me, the Dune 8k currently looks more mature than the Zidoo 8k. But it's also been on the market a little longer, since February.
Dune has a better transfer speed, according to what I've read here it's probably twice as fast as a Zidoo. But it still falls 1/3 short of the normal speed. For me this is temporarily acceptable (I mean Dune). And I assume that such a standard function will be fixed in time.
I don't know if Zidoo will fix it.

Hello, it is obvious that the Zidoo with the 928 needs polishing and I have no doubt that this will be done with future firmware, my opinion is that this Zidoo has a lot of potential and a lot of room for improvement, I have the Z9X and I am very happy, but it is also fair to say that those who own the Z9X Pro have been left behind with multiple unresolved problems, and that is a problem that unfortunately practically all brands have.
I will receive my Z9X 8K the first week of September and I hope that the firmware has been polished so that we can enjoy it.
