No problems here on a Denon amp with THD in either ISO or BDMV.

These aren't Disney titles are they?

You say ANY movie? There is a known issue with Disney titles that are made up of lots of smaller m2ts files - Cars is an example. You get audio drop out on TrueHD Atmos. This will be (hopefully) fixed in next update

Any suggestions for what I can do about it? I tried several devices on NTFS. And the exfat device came up straight away.

Guess I have to use exFAT :(

Can you please try connecting a NTFS device, a usb flash drive or external hdd, though the USB ports and not through the SATA port?

I always use the usb 3.0 port

Honestly no idea - I always use network storage, but as I say, a NTFS formatted SATA disc works fine here.

We need someone with more experience with on board drives to chip in here - maybe @Nice Monkey ?

Yes, USB flash drive formatted to NTFS works fine.

How the UHD8000 manage the DAC Sabre ?

Today I wanted to test TIDAL via the ANALOG Output to my Amp.
I had to go in the settings to select the correct output of the Zidoo.

On the UHD3000 we can assign a button for the DAC.

    Any idea ?

reminds me of times when I could not figure out wtf was wrong with the remote not working. After more time than I like to confess too, I realized I was holding the wrong remote.

Can someone please test AUDIO-ONLY true-hd Atmos, MPEG-H and Auro files? .mka, .thd, etc.

Can anyone explain how default subtitles works? I'm having a really strange issue with the default subtitle setting of "follow default flag". On videos that have no default flagged subtitles, it still decides to enable subtitles for some reason. On one show that contains tons of different language subs (none are default or forced), it decided to use German subtitles! This makes no sense because I clearly have it set to "follow default flag" and my Zidoo is also set to English, so why are German subs enabled?

In Kodi it would only automatically show subtitles if there was a default or forced flag. What settings do I need to get Zidoo to not automatically show subs unless there's either a Default or Forced flag?

I don't have the new UHD8000 (yet), but it looks that the remote control is similar to the UHD5000.
On this remote, on the upper/right side is the green button "Source" which changes the audio output to Internal DAC, USB DAC or DAC Off.

Awesome! - I wondered what that button was all about - thank you! @Choufleuri , I guess you will beat me to the testing you want to do re TIDAL as I have a busy weekend in store so would really welcome your findings.

Same problem, I'm either getting subtitles always on or always off but never just forced subs as appropriate.

I'm having to leave subs all off (as @Markswift2003 suggested to me in an earlier post about this) then select forced subs on a per file basis. A bit frustrating tbh.

Wow, that's kind of an unacceptable solution for me. I watch a lot of Korean shows and having to manually set subtitles every episode is way too inconvenient. Also lots of movies need subtitles for foreign parts, it would be a massive pain to have to go through my entire collection to see which ones need it and then manually set them. This seems like such a simple thing to get right, surely something can be done to fix it?

EDIT: In my opinion, the subtitle system needs a complete overhaul. We should be able to customize subtitles in the Zidoo settings menu, not just when a playing a video. There needs to be an option for a soft shadow outline around the words so that it's very clearly readable even if the background is the same color as the subs. And most importantly, default and forced flags need to be handled correctly. As it stands, Kodi's subtitle implementation is 10x better than this... and sadly this is looking like it could be a dealbreaker for me. :(

I can now confirm only 1 of the USB 2.0 ports work! And the one will detect my drives. So all 3 USB 3.0, and 1 of the 2 USB 2.0 ports don't work?! They all worked perfectly on last year's Z9X Pro
