That makes sense, thanks for the explanation. I'm hoping that we hear from someone on the Zidoo team that they're aware of the issue and will be working to fix it.

The Zidoo Z9X is a fantastic media player and I'm overall very happy with it, but this issue is making me unsure if I should keep it or not. I may have to roll the dice and try the AM6B+ which also happens to have FEL support (not important, but a nice bonus). I guess it will depend on whether or not we get an official response within the next few weeks.

Same thing happened to me.. Z3000, seems the power switch in the back was switched (default) to power off, so fixed that one.. also if you get a blue screen.. its because you have the main HDMI cable
in the audio out port.. Yes I did that.. wasn't my proudest moment. :D

Haha! - Last night when setting up my UHD8000 I couldn't get the mains plug plugged in, no matter how I tried. Bending over my gear to do this really strains my back and after about 10 minutes I was about to give up. But then realised there was a plastic cover over the three pins of the plug itself - DOH!!!!

Does anyone know how the Dune players with this SoC handle the same disks?

There's something weird going on with this forum. Peoples quoted posts being translated on the fly to different languages! Look a @mirror post above. He quotes my question from earlier and it somehow has been translated into Chinese? Lol.

That's awesome to hear, and thank you for the speedy response! The Z9X 8K is absolutely awesome so far, and when this issue is fixed I can see myself using it as my main player for years to come!

Yes I've noticed this but for some reason, it seems ok right this minute?

It's not the forum - there are no translation settings - it's peoples' browsers and it's easy to forget to translate back if you have auto translate switched on.

    Or something..

Just received the Z9X 8K. It won't detect any of my external SSD drives or an old external HDD?!
I updated to latest firmware and did a factory reset, still no devices found?
I also tried all usb ports 3.0 and 2.0

    Please help.

So I tried formatting a usb stick to exfat and now it detects it?!

NTFS worked fine on my z9x pro..

Never tried plugging a SATA drive into a Z9X before, but I just stuck an old NTFS drive I have lying around in it and it came up straight away.

That is strange. Did you plug it into the new Z9X 8K? As I mentioned it worked on my Z9X Pro.

Yes - just a hard drive I had knocking about - plugged into the SATA port of a Z9X 8K and came up straight away.

Then checked it was NTFS by plugging into a PC.

Hi I received my new uhd8000 tuesday all set up but have one issue
When playing any BDMV movie with true hd atmos sound track the sound drops in and out and is unusable in atmos it’s anything with TrueHd I have also set the Hdmi to RAW but still does it please could you advise thank youI’ve narrowed it down to any BDMV folder with TrueHd atmos film in it cuts out dropping in and out same film in a mkv container works fine, all the BDMV movies played fine in my zappiti signature player with different Hdmi cables so got to be issue with the uhd 8000 playback with bdmv truehd. I’ve also reset the player and my denon amplifier
