I'd guess that's probably the same as here in the UK and probably anywhere in Europe - but that's just streaming. For that Firesticks rule!

But these boxes are for local playback so is there a favourite for playing back local content in India or is that not the norm? Do most people stream internet content?

I guess the thing is that I've seen it on the Z9X Pro and although I've not seen it recently, I know it was there.

With the Z9X 8K, I've never seen it, so I honestly don't think it'll be an issue. Remember this is a completely different SOC so we shouldn't expect the same issues at all.

But the very fact that you say that "choppy playback is making me crazy on the Z9x pro" makes me worry and think there's something wrong elsewhere - quite honestly, it might be a very very occasional thing with the Realtek boxes, but it certainly isn't endemic to the SOC.

ill second , no issues with z9x or z9x pro ,re choppy playback

the few that have had it ,its always turned out to be something like a bad hdmi cable , or lan isnt gigabit , ie an old cat 3 cable in the run , OR bad recordings ie vids from apple i phones

Same with my Z1000 Pro. I had UHD ISOs stuttering and it turned out to be a LAN cable that I'd been using with my music server without issue, that wasn't gigabit. So many variables...

What do those have to do with a media streamer?

Majority of Indian people(almost 99.99%) mostly stream the content.
Few of them connect PC or Laptop to the TV or PJs for playing Local media.
No Media player users to my knowledge.

Which choppy playback do you mean?
I have never had a choppy playback with my Z9X Pro.

The occasional stutter is always there with Z9X pro, hope the issue is resolved with new 8K ones.

I agree the occasional stutter is always there. I just ordered the 8K model, hoping it has resolved it.
are the 8K beta firmware not out? Zidoo devs finally fixed the an8 subtitle issue (internal and external) and the dutch subtitle issue:

    1. Optimize the problem of default subtitles not working
    4. Optimize AN8 subtitle display
    9. Added built-in AN8 subtitle display

Are these changes ported to the 8K model, if so which firmware? If not, why?

Also Local media can be played directly by connecting a drive to the TV and it just plays fine. No need of having a media streamer the TVs hardware is powerful enough to play all the content decently. Before having Zidoo I was doing the same thing for almost 6 years.

I use the Z9X for local play, because my TV and many other TVs do not support all video and audio codecs. Best example for this is DTS audio.

Honestly, it will be extremely interesting if you guys still suffer from stutter on the new box - apart from the occasional slowdown issue I posted about on the Z9X Pro last year I have never seen one instance of stutter once boxes hit the public after initial development - that goes for the X9S, the Z9S, the Z9X and the Z9X Pro. If I'd seen it I can guarantee it'd have been pulled out of my cinema the same day (as happened to Dune and Nvidia boxes).

The Z9X 8K is of course a complete departure - using a different manufacturer's SOC for the first time in years - so there are very few parallels to be drawn between the new and old boxes.

Are ANY 8K beta firmware out? Zidoo devs finally fixed the an8 subtitle issue (internal and external) and the dutch subtitle issue:

Are these changes ported to the 8K model, if so which firmware? I would expect that these issues which are fixed on Z9X Pro are brought to 8K also. If AN8 subtitile (and dutch subtitles) are not fixed on 8K then it would mean a downgrade grade for me. Basicly I would like to see a thread where the 8K beta firmware can be downloaded as soon our 8K comes in. (something like https://www.mcbluna.net/wp/zidoo/zidoo-z9x-8k-v1-1-38_g-diff-packages/)

Yes those fixes will be in the new models.

Not sure what you mean? There have been many many betas for the 8K models as they've developed.

The difference this time is that they are now differential updates so file sizes and upgrade time can be a lot smaller and will be released OTA.

    Let me rephrase then:
@bob worked with me to fix the an8 internal and external tags. He also fixed that the internal dutch subtitles are working. The fixes are released on http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thr...20-pro-z2000-pro-z2600-uhd5000-release.98644/
I don't see those fixes for the 8K and am worried that the dutch internal subtitles and the AN8 tags are broken on the 8K. So I would like to know where is the equivalent of the 1.0.95 fixed for the 8K box. Hope this is more clear

Ok - I'm pretty sure the answer is yes because both the Z9X and Z9X Pro firmware releases are based on earlier changes in the 8K boxes.

I just checked the AN8 thing on a Z9X 8K running latest beta and that works fine - if you can send me something to test dutch subs and remind me what the issue was previously I can check that too.
