Thanks for this. Seems that they fixed the subtitles download list, they are not all the same! Cool.

The 8k models use HT5. HT5 is in the latest firmware for current models so you can experience it now!

Have online trailers been deactivated again? I didn't see them in this video.

hi there, my current dune 8k has android tv. Not sure what version it is, since i do not use it, but it sure is there :)

And afaik, these 8k boxes are not 'certified' for 4 k netflix and such, therefore i'm not sure why it is on the Dune 8K. Never got into android tv actually.

ps, still following this topic, and still waiting for my floor to be wiped :)

Both Zidoo and Dune use Android TV OS v11

The Dune 8K boxes are not Netflix certified.

Both Zidoo and Dune use a modified Android TV OS then to get all SOC features to work. As far as I am aware such an Android TV version will never get Google certification. Knowing that I wonder how the planned/mentioned G-Version is ever going to run?
That is the only basis for underlying Android TV based streaming Video services like Netflix to certify them too. For me a curious wait and see what it exactly brings.

The Eversolo audio streamers/players use a modified Smart Phone Android OS as the basis. No Android TV GUI and controls (including voice) on those. Some Smart phone APP's can be sideloaded on those which I keep a track on.

Me think Dune ( unlike zidoo) runs it in a container/vm, just like the normal android part.
I mean, all the netflix and amzn stuff is there when you first start it up, that might be the reason it is there?

Only the Dune/Google Homatics player runs a full standard Android OS allowing any video streaming service APP which is "Powered by Android TV" compatibel.
Using the "Dune media player APP" on those turns it into a (almost) full functional Dune media player. Have that tiny player too which is true great value for money (comes along with me when travelling). It is also unique in doing DD/DTS => PCM via HDMI (much asked for and great to plug it into any Hotel TV).

Lets see if the Zidoo Z9X 8K can replace that one too?

Is the zidoo 8K 'certified' for 4 K streaming/netflix? Can't find that in the advertorials.

This is what Dune reminds, about its own latest generation of players :

Compatibility with Android apps and streaming services :
Varies across particular apps and services, no guaranteed compatibility (no official Android TV certification, no official certifications by particular streaming services); the primary function of this media player is Hi-End media playback from HDD or NAS.
Support for Android apps and streaming services is additional non-primary functionality without guaranteed compatibility.
Compatibility of the player with particular applications (Dune HD plugins or Android applications) may depend on specifics of the application, particular usage scenario, and other factors; compatibility of the player with arbitrary applications is not guaranteed.

I think the same goes for Zidoo.

Yes for external Video Streaming APP's but Zidoo is great for external Streaming Music services and/or external Music Library services in contrary to Dune which lacks all that. If you are using any of those don't think twice and grab a new Zidoo (or Eversolo).

What about Apple TV, do you know?

    Yes, not being Airplay2 (multiroom).

Apple TV is another video streaming service and you only can try if and what works then.
I will keep a list of what has proven to work or does not work also for video services on the new series.

This similar to general APP's and music APP's for Eversolo.

Please PIN this topic too as it will be asked again and again.

The reason I ask is because my son wants to make me an ATV Family Member. I have the app on my TV but think it would be better if it was on the Zidoo.
