Has it been confirmed if kodi install with streams will support zidoo internal media player and vs10 engine?

Futeko told me last week that despatch 'could' be as early as end of this week or more likely w/c 22/7. So this could be read that maybe they will ship at the end of this week? We shall see!

    Hello Markswift2003

I trust your word a lot because in the past I asked you if it was worth changing my zidoo z1000 pro for a zidoo z2100 pro to gain ram memory and image quality and you told me that the change was not worth it because I would not notice any improvement.

Now I want to change the zidoo z1000 pro for a zidoo z9x 8k with more memory and a new chip.

Will I notice the improvement in image quality, sharpness and processor speed with more memory in the zidoo z9x 8k?

    Thank you

    A little technical curiosity :

It seems that the AC In input on the UHD8000 is limited to 0.35A max.
This value seems very low to me !

On the Neo Alpha, it is 3.15A max (and this is also the value of the fuse) !

Ok I tell myself that the new chip may have lower consumption, but how is such a difference possible ?! o_O

(Especially since the UHD8000 can power one more IDE hard drive than the Neo Alpha)

I think my question got lost...

When pausing/resuming playback, are there any gaps/delays in audio playback?

Do fast forward / rewind work?

    Thanks!

No doubt about the performance using a 2x faster processor with double memory for caching. But for that improved picture quality with viewing on a quality DV/HDR10+ TV without any up or downscaling needed?
For the remainder no doubts a lot of FW improvements above all Music Player and BD ISO with Menu getting a leap to new heights. .

Must be a mistake. UHD3000/UHD5000/UHD8000 have an ample hybrid PSU with 12V 5A output on the switched mode PSU alone. Doing dual HDD nicely with live HDD swaps allowed. Don't worry about that.

The Neo Alpha got similar if not exactly the same excellent PSU's.

Yes, I think people will notice a qualitative difference and on a quantitative level you can use test patterns - for example chroma banding is slightly better, something that wasn't an issue in real world content on the Realtek boxes, but could nevertheless be measured.

Overall it's a definite upgrade and hell, we all like new shiny things ;)

We for sure do. My recommendation don't upgrade to them for improved PQ and/or AQ but get them for any other aspect a media player can bring. Just to get the expectations right. :p
There are people which use these players just for watching MKV's and absolutely nothing else. Most value a Movie Wall with it but not even everybody.

The native 4K interface alone would be a reason for me to upgrade :D
Then you get an improved HT plus Apps for Plex, Emby and Jellyfin. In addition you got plenty of VS10 options which are absolutely awesome.
    BD menu is also improved.
    And there is more

Picture Quality improvements at this stage are always going to be incremental, but they're still definitely there.

The only yard stick for the AML 928X in the wild at the moment is Dune and they haven't got access to the resource that Zidoo have so their image quality is slightly behind the curve. In several respects.

I'm being deliberately obtuse here because I don't want to give away too many clues.

There are no paradigm shifts in image quality here, and that's to be expected, but there are improvements.

So the information written under the AC In is disturbing...
(I'll have the final word when I have it and will be able to open it to check at the exact value of the fuse.)

These pictures are rendered. We saw also female XLR connectors which in reality are normal male.
A bit clumsy but not really important. Just forget it.

No, these photos are real, here is the other side of the rear panel, with the male XLRs...

I still don't care. I am 99.999% sure it has a correctly dimensioned hybrid PSU. A mistake was made somewhere. If it is mislabeled on the actual shipped boxes then it is a nasty mistake but still nothing to worry about. Obviously it must be corrected.

Always look carefully at PSU's myself and do measure them under various conditions when doing a review.

The switched mode PSU is rated 12V 3A. The UHD3000 linear section has 3 independent AC transformer wiring feeds for DAC digital, DAC analog and the mainboard. These 3 stabilizers are all located at the right on the Audio DAC panel (see attachment Audio Panel). The linear PSU's are rated at 2x 12V 1A and 1x 6V 1A for a generous total hybrid peak output of 66W (=30+36).

Measurements on actual UHD3000 power consumption:
    Standby: 0.5W
    Mainboard: 9W - 12W range no HDD's attached
    With 2x 3.5 inch HDD's: 24W with peak above 40W when inserted 1 via Plug & Play
    With single 2.5 inch HDD: 12W - 14W range

Important to realize the player is factory wired for the correct voltage range.

    Thank you for your details.
I was wondering, but I wasn't worried that the power supply might be undersized or anything like that.
My curiosity also has another goal :
I would like to know the exact value of the fuse because I have to order one, to receive it if possible before the Zidoo is delivered (and before my store closes for summer vacation)...
That's why I'm trying to find the exact information right now !
