Hi all: Just to tell you we haven't stopped moving, we're developing some interesting functions, such as a better subtitles control function, a new control center, and a whole new Poster Wall application. The control center allows you to use your mobile device to control anything, such as browse files, movie, music, play control, subtitle control, audio control, even edit the poster wall information. Some pictures FYI
Great front too on the X20. With 2x USB2 and a power button on it, that is really nice. Impressive player for sure. The only big remaining question is now what the price is going to be? What I am missing is the announcement of a truly great music player as this box is specially strong in Stereo Analog Audio out. This to work seamless with the remote control App via smartphones.
not much of a secret really, we where expecting it for some time now, let me know if you need testers ?
For a look thing think prefer drive access to the sides Left and right . But then would need to be pulled out if often hot swapping . Just my two cents .
Is it forseen to control the new interface with a REST HTTP or JSON RPC API ? I hope one can control the video player with the App as well
If it does it will be hardly visible as the HW improvements don't include any video processing enhancements apart from Dual HDMI out. Most likely it has a better PSU which always is good for all processing, but that is it on that front. This also is good news as it unifies FW development for X8/X9S/X10 with the new X20 except for the mentioned improved Music Player. The improved music player is expected to support SABRE DAC with XLR out specifically for very HQ Stereo Audio Analog out. It will be good to hear from the audiophiles under us how that performs. Using a Pioneer BDP-LX55 Blu Ray/SACD player for this myself now (in fact it is a full equivalent for the newer and even better Pioneer BDP-LX58 also using SABR DAC's). As a source Concert BD's, Audio only BD's and SACD offer the best audio content available today. The mentioned BD's got supported recently only this since BD menu support was added as most use individual Titles per song which would not work without.
@mirror: Great news, is this also the case for the "Native Video Player" ? I use ZDMC which is using the Native Player... ZDMC has already a JSON RPC API
