That makes no sense - The VS10 logo is only invoked when a file is played back and VS10 is being used. It doesn't happen on startup.

Hi is writing about the movie start-up... not the device start-up. So when he starts the movie he just sees the VS10 logo but no any movie... So like the entire movie would be just a black screen. That what I understand from @antr

 

Possibly playing the movie in a format his equipment doesn't support. Maybe using a custom EDID.

Probably best to factory reset which is always a good idea with second hand kit.

Is it possible to move the .hometheater folder from where it has been created first, on my nas share (2.8gb folder in my video share, 300MB in my tvshow share), to the locage storage on the zidoo?
I am very reluctant to rebuild the media library from scratch but I am experiencing a delay when reaching HT5, it takes at least 30 seconds before popping the loading posters thingy and displaying it.
I remember it to be far faster and I am not sure what caused that. I read best practice was to use the local storage so starting there.

At your own risk, but this is what I'd do:

I'd backup the database.

I'd export art and NFOs.

I'd completely reset HT5 (Library/Clear Data)

Set Poster Folder to "Custom Folder", tick "Use Local Images First" in Preferences and restore the database.

BEFORE opening any poster page I'd then check in settings to see if it's reset the poster folder and if so, set it back to Custom.

Once you're happy it's all working on the local folder, delete the ones on the shares.

Collection is 3000 movies and 250 tv shows, hence the 2,8gb. 70% occupation on a 240tb nas.

I use local art so the .hometheatre folder is virtually empty.

 

I have a problem with display settings on my Z9X Pro going back to their defaults after a shortish period of time and I wondered if anyone can explain why this is, or what I can do to stop it from reverting.

I have display set to 1080p/23Hz (tried setting it as locked and it still reverts) and HDR set to output Dolby VS10. They're the only two things I want to change. They stick for a couple of days but then I'll go back and find they've gone back to their defaults of Auto. This has happened across every FW I've had from .58 to the current .95 that I'm on.

Is my AVR (Denon X-2800H) causing this? I had a Yamaha AVR until very recently and it happened with that one too.

 

Possibly an EDID problem to do with the order things are powered up.

A source like the Zidoo needs to know the capabilities of the HDMI sinks - in your case a combination of the amp and the display.

Two possible solutions:

1. Make sure both amp and TV are on before the Zidoo is powered on so it sees their EDID

2. With TV and amp both on, save your EDID and load it back into the Zidoo as a custom EDID and then it's always there.

Also, make sure the Denon has Passthrough Source switched on.

 

Thanks Mark, will give that a spin. There are certainly a lot of situations where I just leave the Zidoo powered up but put the TV/amp into standby so your explanation seems likely.

 

I used to have problems where the player only go to a black screen after a while when I was leaving my Z2600 on 24/7, I automated its power on/off with the rest of my media rooms control systems and no everything is perfect every time.

Hi. I have a couple questions.
1. I have a NAS and every time I need to enter via smb zidoo asking me for login and pass. Is it possible to remember it and not type it every time? Do I have to look in zidoo settings or Synology settings?
2. When I download new movie or TV show zidoo automatically scan it so I can see it entering to default category shortcuts (movie, TV show, children etc.), but it doesn't appear automatically in shortcuts that I created. For example, I have a shortcut for a new movies which scans only folder on NAS with the new movies and when I add new file default shortcut "movie" detects it automatically, but entering to my created shortcut "new movie" I can't see this new file, so I have to assign again --> select a folder on NAS "new movie" --> add to category "new movie" and only after that it appears. How to make it scan and add a new file for my created category as it does with default zidoo categories.
3. Is it possible to assign specific folder to scan for default categories (movies, TV shows, children) as I assigned it for my created categories and do not scan all source. For example, TV shows only have to scan a folder on NAS with the name TV show, movie scans only movie folder.

Can I backup from z9s the Home Theater 4.0 and restore to z9x pro with Home Theater 5.0 ? Or should I run a new scrapping Home Theater 5.0 from scratch?

 

@Markswift2003 Yesterday I was trying VS10 SDR Output and Highest SDR REC709.

VS10 SDR looks much much better but I find some image motion lag, like montion blur, not smooth like in highest sdr. What can be causing this?
I have EDID set to Auto.

No, nothing there to change - I have no idea why you see motion lag as you describe - there's nothing in the way VS10 processes SDR that can do that. Highest SDR is not recommended because the way the Realtek engine converts HDR to SDR isn't great - the colour conversion is abysmal.

 

Apologies if this has been addressed before. Is there a way to depair the V12 remote from my Z2000Pro so i can pair it to my Z9X8K? I am still using my Z2000Pro in my bedroom so i would prefer to have the Bluetooth on the Z9X in my living room if possible but i dont want it controlling the device in the bedroom too. The rooms share a wall so not sure if it will prevent the signal from getting through.
