Is there a visual difference between setting the HDR mode to Mapping HDR10 vs using an EDID to ignore the DV grading and just use HDR10? When watching Coco on 4k the other day I noticed that with the HDR mode the colors looked a bit overblown on my Sony A90K. With the EDID it looked like everything was just right. Or maybe it's just me imagining things? :D

Trust your eyes and use the setting that you personally like best.

Well, reading the whole topic and trying vs10 options on different contents, it seems I can not find the method where VS10 works only on sdr content (to DV). On Z10 Pro I can set vs10 to work only with sdr content (sdr to dv), all other content is native. Is this possible with Z9X Pro and which vs10 option does this?

    I'm using z9x pro.
Can I use USB SOUND when I watch movie?
I'm planning to use some DAC via USB.

    Hi,
    i am using a Zidoo Z20 Pro.
Here on the first page of this thread there is one setting: Display/Color Settings/HDMI color range: 16-235,
but in the menu of my Z20 Pro (Version v1.0.65) this setting is not shown.
    Somebody knows why ?

I seem to remember yhat option was originally removed from early firmware and made automatic, but it was returned in later firmware.

    You should update to v1.0.95.

    Thanks.
With v1.0.95 the setting HDMI color range is now visible on my Z20 Pro :).

    @Markswift2003

Unfortunately, as you have found out, this BPD Realtek Zidoo series changed the VS10 options from input dependent (like on your Z10 Pro) to output dependent .. at the request of Dolby. This was stated in the first post of this thread:

    NEW VS10 SETTINGS

VS10 options have changed from input dependency to output dependency:

Dolby Vision VS10 Engine (Output DV)
Uses VS10 to output GUI and all content as TV Led Dolby Vision (as long as EDID allows).

Dolby Vision VS10 Engine (Output HDR)
Uses VS10 to output GUI and all content as HDR10 (as long as EDID allows).

Dolby Vision VS10 Engine (Output SDR)
Uses VS10 to output GUI and all content as SDR.

Dolby Vision Low Latency (LLDV, YUV422/444/RGB, 10/12-bit)
Uses VS10 to output GUI and all content as LLDV (as long as EDID allows).
Available colour sub-sampling levels and bit depth options for LLDV are dependent on EDID.

Zidoo UHD5000 The default value is YCC444 10 bit.
Samsung S90C TV is connected via Onkyo RZ50 receiver) BUT! When changing YCC444 to any other (8 bit or 12 bit) the sound disappears - I don't understand what sound has to do with picture settings, what nonsense)) Only disconnecting from the network for at least 10 minutes helps!

So the Onkyo can't cope with an on the fly change in colour subsampling.

As a test, I would simply try to engage a different sound mode on the Onkyo to see if the sound then starts up again... seems a bit extreme to have to "disconnect from the network for 10 minutes??" or toggle to another input and then back to the Zidoo input again. I would also try unplugging the Onkyo for at least 30 seconds and then powering up .. just for the heck of it. And make sure all HDMI CEC options are shut off on your display and Onkyo and such... just in case the change in color subsampling is causing a weird HDMI CEC handshake thing....

HDMI CEC is disabled, switching the audio track does not help, only a complete disconnection from the network. Switching to another input and disconnecting the receiver also does not give any result. Only a complete disconnection of the receiver and player from the network. If Onkyo cannot cope with the operational change of color subsampling, what can be done?

Do you think the problem is with ONKYO?

The problem appeared 3 days ago after I played with Zidoo settings for a long time. Although I then returned all the settings to default, nothing helped. I did not change the settings on the TV and receiver.

Well, at least you know how the problem started then.... kind of up to you to figure out what you did.. I am just trying to offer up some troubleshooting suggestions..

Thank you, but I have already tried all possible options including those you suggested.

And what can you suggest? What actions should I take? Please advise. Thanks for your answer.

Not sure - You said this happened when you changed the colour settings - is that not the case?

Yes, that's right. After changing the color settings (not 4K YCC444 8bit) Today, in addition to the lack of sound, the image began to stop. When rewinding, it resumes and stops again after a minute)

but if you change (not 4K YCC444 to 10bit) turn off the player and receiver from the network for 10 minutes, then everything works fine. Any changes to YCC444 or HDMI Color Range lead to loss of sound and stuttering of the image

    So don't change the settings.
