Great! There are many settings in the player, but don't touch them)))

    Try these:

Playback/Automatic frame rate/Frame rate mode: Match frame rate and resolution

    Display/Resolution: Auto

    Display/Color Settings/4K 50~60Hz: Priority YUV420 10BIT
    Display/Color Settings/4K 23~30Hz: Priority YUV444 10BIT
    Display/Color Settings/Non-4K: Priority YUV444 10BIT
    Display/Color Settings/HDMI color range: Auto
Display/Color Settings/Deep Colour compatibility mode: Turn Off
Display/Color Settings/HDMI Signal format: Enhanced format

    Display/HDR: Auto

I have exactly these settings except HDMI Color Range: 16-235 (although I don't see any difference at all when changing this setting)
    But I want to set:
    Display/Color Settings/Non-4K: YUV444 8BIT Priority, not 10bit!
Why can't I do this? What could be the reason for the crash? That is the question. Thanks

You should be able to do this no problem, but there is no difference between 8 and 10 bit modes if you are using 8 bit content.

I only recommend 10 bit because there is some 10 bit HEVC 2K content around now.

I always listened to your advice and I will leave the settings as you recommend, please understand me. I am just wondering why when changing the settings to 8bit the sound disappears and the picture starts to stop!!!

You yourself wrote that there shouldn't be any problems, but there are.

The black screen is HDMI resync in the display (and AVR if applicable).

HDMI will resync on a change of frame rate and/or HDR mode and/or resolution.

I have no idea why your sound disappears and picture stops when you select 8-bit.

The sound disappears when I select 8 bits when setting "Match frame rate"
There is sound when I select 8 bits when setting "Match frame rate and resolution"

ONKYO has nothing to do with it, I connect the player directly to the TV - the same thing)))

The question is, what does resolution have to do with sound output?))

Of itself, nothing at all, so there is another variable at play here.

Ok, I'm not trying to set 8bit anymore, it doesn't work, oh well. One more question for you.
When connecting the Zidoo UHD5000 player directly to the Samsung s90c TV, it shows the correct 10-12 bit signal. When passing through the RZ50 Onkyo receiver, it shows 8-bit signal instead of the required 10-12.
Markswift2003 fixed my EDID, which now shows 10-12, but when turning off the player, the next time I turn it on, the EDID flies to 8 bit by default.
8K Enhanced is included in the component, Original HDMI 8k cables. Where to look for the problem? Thanks for the answer.

Can you check my EDID again if it's not too much trouble. Thanks

It's interesting that it only works with 422 8 bits.

My guess is there's a setting in the Onkyo - often there is an "HDMI Enhanced" option (or something similar) which may be set to off.

The Onkyo EDID says it doesn't support 10 or 12-bit 4:4:4 but the Samsung does:

    Hi
Have just sold this "old" player, but new customer can't get any pic.
He can see VS10 loggo in upper corner but for a short while, but otherwise no pic.
Togglig resolution via remote makes no diff.

What does restore button do the one beside USB ports, is that back to factory settings ?

    Any other suggestion ?

It turns out that the problem is exclusively in the receiver and I will not be able to see a normal picture until I change it to something that supports 10-12 bits...

So he can boot the player ok - it's only when he plays a file?

(reset button is used to flash firmware back using the emergency method https://www.zidoo.tv/Support/faq/guide_target/2k02gFiWIINKKmVViAFMcQ==.html)

Dear Markswift2003, thank you very much for your patience and help, my settings corresponded to where you poked my nose))) I understand that it supports 12 bit, but I thought it was broken.
I did a full reset of the receiver settings, performed the initial settings + Dirac and in the EDID properties I saw 444 12!!! I kindly ask you to look again at the EDID of the receiver, which I just saved after a full reset.
Maybe it will be possible to add HDR+ and brightness corresponding to my S90C TV with S95C mod (1500 nits)
    Thank you very much!!!

    You're welcome.

    Looks good:
    upload_2024-10-15_18-14-52.png

That EDID already supports HDR10+ so nothing needs to be added. The HDR10+ flag is simply either on or off - there are no luminance settings like there are with Dolby Vision.

Wasn't cler in my description, there is no picture at start-up, just during a short time VS loggo on TV but small window on player itself looks ok with presenting clock.
Using resolution button, on remote than you can see that window in player changes from 1080p -> 4k etc..... but no picture on TV.

Feels like SBW, but can't pinpoint it....
