New beta version v1.0.95 for Z9X PRO/Z20 PRO/Z2000 PRO/Z2600/UHD5000 release

There was a user years ago who posted prolifically on YouTube with tutorials for Zidoo, including a lot of widget images etc - but for some unknown reason he saw fit to delete the lot unfortunately.

To be honest, they would be useless now since the icons size and the way transparency is handled has changed, but it might have given you pointers.

As it is, there are no tutorials or ready made sets since these boxes aren't in the wild yet.

Personally I use Photoshop to create these icons - I haven't changed them a great deal and I certainly don't like the skeuomorphic icons some people seem to like - I prefer the flat look.

Attached are the ones I made for myself - and I've only made the ones I use, so again, these are only really examples.

 

My Z9X Pro stopped detecting my SATA connected HDD right after update. I have factory reset it etc but still wont detect it. Anyone had similar issues or any ideas I can do before reformatting HDD and losing all data to see if it works? Thanks

 

Could you somehow extract the old HT4 /PW4 icons? I have already upgraded to 1.0.95... Or maybe still have some full resolution screenshots of the old icons?

 

It's easy enough to extract the icons from HT4 but they'll be cropped in HT5 because the icon is a rectangle not a square.

In HT5 they look like this:

 

I know but i need the original colours at the background fill of each old icon... The new white icons are ok. But the colours are terrible. I want to revert to the original ones... I will experiment.

 

So would you like a zip with the icons from HT4?

 

Either me this function is missing, i don't know why in Zidoo can not always be displayed complete library movies.

 

So they can be changed? Not a fan on the new ones either

 

If you mean widget icons (ALL, MOVIE, TV, DOLBY VISION etc), then yes of course - just like in previous versions, although now they are 600x360px instead of 200x200px and support full transparency.

 

Previously, 7 icons were placed, but now only 5 due to the size. Firmware v1.0.95

I took my old icons and cropped/resized to 300x300. Then I expanded the canvas size to 600x300. I then filled the newly added background portion with the fill bucket using near black (RGB 30,30,30). The 30,30,30 fill matches the background so all I see is the blue disk in the case of this example.

 

I was wondering if anyone else has issues with the app on this release? I have the new Zidoo Controller app on iPad and iPhone. Seems to work great until I want to start a movie. If I go to hit play in the app on a title, nothing happens…the screen on both my device and projector goes black for a few seconds, then the app kicks back to the poster and the Zidoo goes back to wherever I last was.

If I use the remote control it works fine

Weird thing is, only some titles. No idea why. Some play fine, many don’t. All mkv files on an smb share. I tried finding patterns like only 4k files, files with certain codecs, but came up short

 

What is this HT5 thing?
