    Hi guys.
I'm running 1.0.95 on the Z9X Pro and find that .iso rips from BD just will not display forced subtitles. I see the Forced Subtitles option and can select English but they do not appear. If I switch main subtitles into English, they show up correctly but obviously for all dialogue. I'm mainly noticing this on 3D titles but not sure if that has any relevance.
Is this a known issue or is there any way to get this working other than converting to .mkv?

Just to be clear, are you referring to this forum's 1619BPD X9X Pro? or the 1619DR Z9X?

Hi Deano86. Thanks for asking. I'm on the Pro.

Mark, I'm having a similar issue. Since adding the Lumagen my Z9X Pro will lose my HDR settings and drop down to SDR output. I had it on VS10 output HDR. Is there a thread that shows how to do a custom EDID so I can try that? Either that or I will start turning the Zidoo off and see if I turn it on after everything else is up if it will get the correct EDID info. Though I'd have to scan for new movies this way.

I have another issue where it always start a movie with subtitles enabled. Maybe I have some incorrect settings??? What are the correct settings to have it not use subtitles by default?

Easiest thing to do is to get the player up and running in the configuration that works best for you, then when everything is running, go to Settings/Display/Custom EDID > Save EDID and then upload that EDID back into the box and select it - then it's always available regardless of what shenanigans all the HDMI sinks you have connected get up to.

    Switch subtitles off:

    Settings/Playback/Subtitle and Audio/Default Subtitles > Off

I'd leave forced subs on though:

    Settings/Playback/Forced subtitle > Auto

And keep in mind, that in order for Forced Subtitles to work... that particular subtitle track has to have the "F" or Forced flag enabled on it. With my MKV movie files, I rip with MakeMkv and then identify the proper foreign languange only or Forced subtitle track using MediaInfo. And then if needed, I toggle on the flag using MKVToolnix Header editor.

Very disappointed with this player, I would never recommend this to anyone.
No firmware updates, zdmc unworkable slow and not updated to new version.
Stremio not working with external player.
Home Theater is a joke, when scraping in Dutch many movie plots are empty because it doesn’t fallback to English. Foreign actors are shown in Chinese signs.
No plot or IMDb score or running time in series, only some episodes. Etc , etc.
I will keep box only for backup , I bought a Nvidia shield after this box for less money and wow !
Latest Kodi works ultra fast , stremio out of the box (with all other streaming platforms), picture quality from 4K movies looks exactly the same.
    Bye bye zidoo.

    Strange !!!
I have the Z20 Pro for more than a year and ripped a few hundred movies and TV shows, all legals (purchased).
Not a single problem so far despite scrapping in French (but first sanitised with tMM). For TV shows, everything is there: plot, score, running time, ...
If your expectations were to get a streamer, I am afraid you didn't read the Z9X Pro description.
So yes, I would recommend this player to anyone willing to build a movie/TV show data base assuming:
    - every blu-ray/ DVD is processed and converted in mkv format
    - proper naming convention is applied
    - sanitisation with tMM
    - streaming is not expected (they are much better options)
    - and I almost forgot, be prepared to spend some time before mastering the Zidoo (fortunately, the forum is very helpful)

Crazy that people keep buying a local media player and expecting it to be a streamer.

Thats a dumb reaction, who said i bought it as a streamer.
I only also pointed to stremio as that works on the 8k version, not on this box ,but no problem, as all the streaming apps are on the lg.
I bought it as a replacement for my x9s as i also replaced my plasma 3D with a oled g4.
I hoped it would be much better for all my 4K rips copied to my nas, but it is not, it already surprised me the the nice old colorful bootlogo was replaced by a dull grey one.
Almost 10 years further and it’s not faster, zdmc still only old nexus version, and very slow. Not one firmware upgrade in more than a year ( the old x9s had so many upgrades). And the HT problems I mentioned before.
If unclejohs has serie plots, serie scores and episodes running time, he has a very special ht version (I have 43.52). I don’t believe it.
