Some news for X10/X9S/X8

depends on how realtek plan to implement the android passtrough API, if they even going to implement it... the smart way would be with android update. but there is also back port option ( stupid way )

but seeing how they move like an old lady , don't think this update will have anything do to with proper passtrough or android update.

 

Well hopefully passthrough is finally resolved as its hit or miss with kodi updates at the moment

If they want to have a real winner they must use fully working android 7 so netflix, youtube or any other streaming work in 4k HDR an DV. If they do stick with there own system it will only be a chinese box.

Lets hope they are not more intrested in getting the X20 - X 15 out than concentrating on the previous models already out and fully supporting them proper !

netflix, youtube etc .. in 4K i do not need it, I have my tv 4k hdr with android tv for that.

what I want is to have a good scrapper (with their new ZIUI) and a good PQ (we already have it)

 

I am in your camp. Also use my TV for Streaming services in 4K.

By the way these TV's prove that in fact Android 7 is not essential for that (mine still runs 6). What is essential is a licensed Android TV OS allowing to install the required full featured APP's.

Also included a high quality X20 Inside picture (page-3).

 

I and many would like to enjoy HDR-SDR mode. I specifically look forward to this new UI. The present UI is satisfactory but the lack of HDR-SDR is a major thing.

 

Im believe the new firmware will have an option for 4K hdr on or off etc

I also hope that it is finally supported properly. Such a popular video format as MTS (AVC HD H.264) should finally be supported properly.

I wrote several times to the support, but as always: without an answer.

After all, most Sony and Panasonic Compact and camcorders records in MTS. And they have a lot of customers. Overall in the world. And still significantly more than 4K.

 

Well it depends on everyone’s needs. I don’t have a 4k tv but a 4k projector and Netflix YouTube etc in 4k hdr would be very nice! Of course a good scrapper too!!

Do you mean Xiaomi mi box?
I think that it doesn't do hdr on 4K Netflix and also it only has Wi-Fi connection and not lan Ethernet so maybe has streaming issues if the router isn't near the box.
And last but not least I don't (if I can) want to have a rack full of boxes in my home theater!
