could be ,theres a page tagged on here ,probably in the Pro forum which will show exactly how to set Custom EDID

    its sort of like
    Do all your settings
    turn Custom EDID on ..slider
Save your edid settings ,i use download folder on the Zidoo
then choose that save location and your file ,to set it

Great - thanks for the confirmation.

I think the AI thing will fix itself once the mad standby thing is fixed.

I noticed that there is no logic to the various stutters and freezes. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Even the same file that was giving problems before, was perfect today. This evening I watched two episodes of Dune - Prophecy and I had no problems even pausing several times. Go figure out why all this is happening... It's enough to drive you crazy!!!

I cleared the HT5 cache this evening and can confirm that 4k DV movie playback is now stutter-free. Maybe this is a temporary solution but it's better than nothing.

It was about 1.1G....all my 14 drives are attached to the USB ports via a powered hub and subsequent playbacks were stable..

I love my Zidoo Z3000 Pro. The only thing that bothers me is the occasional video freezing while the sound continues, presumably only on DV. It looks like it's a common issue. Hopefully this upcoming firmware will fix that.

While I'm trying to understand the world of NAS being completely new to it, as far as Zidoo players are concerned playing media from a NAS, does it make any difference in performance if shared files on the NAS are set to SMB or NFS?

Do you mean after standby different settings turned on itself?

Ok, that's probably quite large - mine is sitting about 88MB with the wall fully populated but not many poster pages accessed.

If it drops into Standby on its own, then there seems to be some unexpected undefined behaviour.

Turning it off on the remote does not do this.

My clear cache of HT was 1.08Gb
    Clear Data was 1.15gb
    Storage used 65,83mb

After clearing storage and data were both 65mb
The music player 8 has only 128mb cache and is used as much.

    Hi Mark,

A little aside, which is not directly related to the various bugs observed,
but which could have some importance on the overall stability of the player :

In my experience of computer programs (and firmware), the stability of operation
does not only depend on the quality of the program coding, but also on the quality
    of the update process.

There is no point in writing efficient code, if at the time of updates, the operation
    is not perfect :

    - Correctly replace the updated lines...
    - Remove all files and lines of code that have become useless, without forgetting pieces
in the corners of the directory architecture...
    - Correctly modify paths and addresses...
    - Correctly clean the registry...
    - Correctly empty the caches...
    - Delete all useless temporary files...

During a firmware update, some of these operations are done automatically (more or less well)
when there is a total replacement (deletion/new writing) of the firmware.
But when it comes to patches only, very often these operations are not performed correctly,
and at best, the program becomes cumbersome in its operation and takes up more space,
at worst, it causes file corruption.

Far too often, the quality of these operations is neglected, even though they can ruin
the operation of an otherwise extremely well-written program.

Zidoo, which already seems to have difficulty controlling the stability of its firmware in terms
of the efficiency and operating performance of the player, would it not be in its best interest
to stop the successive patches, and return to a system of complete reinstallation of the firmware
    with each update ?

Successive patches lead to risks of instability and additional malfunction. It would be relevant
for Zidoo not to add this layer of difficulties to those they are already currently encountering.

Coming from working in and for software companies for most of my life (sales/director), I strongly suspect you are on to something.
