Good morning, my web page was set to automatically translate into Dutch. If all goes well it should now be in English.

Played back a 9th tv episode last night in 4K HDR and again not seeing any playback issues that everyone is experiencing.

So im edging my bets its server / streaming issues at moment.

Yeah, I'm afraid the stuttering, stopping and other issues come from SBM source. Actually I don't find any issue from my HDD-dock via USB3.

I only tested stutter. Didn't play long enough to see if the one on the USB would freeze.

I am still on 1.70 as 1.80 was controversial and lastly removed. UHD8000 here with 2 internal HDDs, no freezes nor unexpected behavior on my setup…

Report again the bug in Music player. Listened today 2 CELLOS DEDICATED ALBUM 48kHz 24bit Flac internal HDD stored and for more then half of songs I ve encountered the popping/stop sound for about 1-2 seconds and after that to normaly continue. This happened in screensaver mode and normal mode (no screensaver). To be sure that is not a problem with the files rewinded the files and the problem didnt continue on the same track. So not a problem with the files. Please also take in consideration this problem! Thank you

No problems here with same spec Flac. I stream from Nas to my zidoo and play through HDMI to Denon.

Did you notice what size the cache was before you cleared it?

Well, since I got the 8K (July) I have regular disconnections of about 10/30s from my hard drives that are on a NAS and then it comes back as it left ????
I specify that I have not changed anything since this new device and that by going through an Apple TV and an old DUNE this does not happen !!!!
Conclusion for me it is the Zidoo 8K that poses a problem...........

Re above clearing the HT cache - does it matter whether you play via the folder option or only via HT?

Perhaps unnecessarily; Anyone who streams via an external source does not have their SMB settings set too high. I had mine on SMB 3 and had problems and after switching back to SMB 2 and to SMB 3 my problems went away.

    interesting
*Supports access to network protocols like NFS, SMB v1/v2/v3, UPnP, Web DAV, and built-in SMB service.
Gonna play with that if the wife is working...else she thinks i have nothing better to do :p

All my videos are stored on an HDD inserted into the Zidoo's internal slot and I have stutters with 4k DV movies (I don't use the VS10).

As for my VC-1 movies having 2/3 second audio lag issues, I tried copying a movie to an external HDD connected to the USB port and the lag issue is the same. I carried out another test: I took the bluray disc of a film, I ripped it again with MakeMKV, and I replaced the one I had on the internal HDD and the problem is still the same. So I think I can rule out the possibility that it's a ripping problem from the original disc.

The HT cache does - amongst other things it holds the poster cache when posters are populated on the poster walls.

Mine was sitting at 265MB, I cleared it to zero then repopulated the poster walls and then it was at 37MB.

Once you start opening poster details pages with larger images, the cache then increases.

Ah ok..on the app settinsg itself. I thought the cleaning app. Normally it should delete caches also.

Done some testing this afternoon to check if not using SMB solved the problem of stuttering and freezing. Unfortunately the answer, in my system, is it doesn't.

Using playback via SMB a DV file I'd played on Xmas eve that stuttered badly and froze did the same today. I also played 2 other files of the same show that had played back flawlessly before the update but they also stuttered and froze. I then transferred the 3 files to a USB drive and connected it to one of the rear USB ports and did the same test. All 3 of them had issues, bad stuttering and the picture freezing while sound continued, including the 2 that had previously played fine.

So, in my setup at least, SMB doesn't seem to be the cause of the problem :(

I didnt think the stuttering is caused by network playback since too many people are having the same issue and not everyone is using network playback....this is something else, but at least its confirmed now!
