Ok, so that kind of makes sense.

Presumably that database has been going a while.

    Cache is the posters
    Data is the database

Storage is so low because you use local images - with online scraping, poster images are kept in .hometheatre hidden folders - these are in addition to the cache - a kind of master store, but with local posters, the local images are used for that if needed to move into cache.

Hi, I also had 1.1gb in the HT cache. I have 4x16 terabyte drives in a Nas. But when I cleared the cache, micro cuts kept occurring on the pans. Regarding the freezes, I have not been able to do any further tests as it is a very random error and difficult to recreate.

I found this on the internet: NFS is known for its fast performance and low overhead, while SMB is known for its reliability, security and compatibility.

I use SMB myself with my NAS but you should set SMB not too high, I have set mine between 2 and 3.

I have/had the same stuttering problem. I also keep my movies on a QNAP NAS upstairs. The affected ones seem to be ‘meaty’ 4K rips that were both large (70GBs and up) and had a high transfer bit rate (55Mbs/sec or so and up)... e.g., To Die For, Now Way Out. I tried troubleshooting my home network. I have Fios Gigabit internet with a NAS connected to a Fios Extender upstairs via 2.5 Gbps through a Cat8 ethernet cable. The Fios Extender is hardwired and connected to the Fios router downstairs in the den via a coax cable that goes out and around the house and back into my den, which also has a bandwidth capacity of approximately 2.5 Gbps. Since I prefer to keep the NAS upstairs, that is pretty much the best connection I can get.

So my solution was to buy an 8GB WD Red Plus HDD, which has a lower spin rate—5200, I think—transfer those problematic 4K UHD rips directly to the HDD, and insert the HDD into one of the HDD slots on my UHD8000.

I had to throw more $$$ at it, but the problem seems to be solved.

I have an old but really reliable Readynas NAS ethernet connected - I play my 1080p or lower resolution films from it and have been playing my 4k stuff on 2 x 12TB drives stuffed inside my UHD8000. Never had issues until 1.1.80 - hope it will be resolved soon

In my experience, most of stuttering issues via NAS come from 4K large, high bit rated stuff and no one from 2K or lower.

I get stuttering in all DV files irrespective of size.

Hey, just thought I'd fill you in on a few ongoing issues I've noticed despite multiple updates.

The bookmark feature seems to work at the end of videos but not at the beginning. I have the beginning set at 5 minutes yet it starts displaying the watched time right from the beginning of the video next the the file instead of at the 5 minute mark. And when it displays the text to return to the beginning of the video by hitting the left arrow after the 5 minute mark on watched time, it only brings up the scroll instead of starting from the beginning of the video.

Also, if I pause a video and the screensaver is going...on my Z1000 pro, hitting play would kick the screensaver off first and display the paused video then you would have to hit play again to start the video. On my Z3000 pro, hitting enter or an arrow turns off the screensaver but displays a black screen instead of the paused video and just hitting play starts the video before the screensaver can turn off. As well, when resuming a paused video while the screensaver is on, the video starts in a kind of slow motion with the audio at normal speed for a few seconds before it re-syncs.

I'm on 1.1.80 but haven't noticed anything regarding this regressive issue mentioned in the other thread...but I did a factory reset after I installed the update. Maybe that had something to do with it.

    Today I watched "Wicked".
My Z3000 pro is still on firmware 1.1.70 and I had 2 times a "pauze" . I gave the zidoo a hard reset (switch at the back) and no further problems.

Problem with Screensaver ,is the folder that contains the 4 images used in SS function ,first is 2160p ,the next 3 are 1080p images

What i was finding on paused vids is weird stuff like the Pause vid/continue of audio and other wierdness ,if the SS flipped thru a few images before you resume play

My fix was to delete the 3 x 1080p images and add in a bunch of 2160p HDR images ,and its been stable since (thou it does start with image paused from memory and you have to hit ok again to play
I added all 2160p hdr images because i have UI set to 4k but either way it will keep swapping between 2160p and 1080p images causing unneeded HDMI synching

the files are on (from pc network ) Network > Z308k>Share>Storage>zddaydream .I kept zd_01 and deleted 02-04 and dragged new images to this folder

On my Z3000 Pro the factory images were never in that folder even though it would still display them during the screensaver. I added my own, all the same resolution and the factory ones stopped showing up in the screensaver cycle. My UI is set to 1080 and the pausing issue still happens even when I'm watching 1080 content.

I've found a way to reproduce the standby issue reliably @Markswift2003

    It turns out the mysterious standby mode is actually an explicit standby mode, however perhaps a legacy feature from prior models or Eversolo or something that isn't fully supported on these 8k devices. As I was working through the endpoints I can use to control the Zidoo via my home automation system, I noticed this endpoint;
    http://{zidoo-ip}:9529/ZidooControlCenter/RemoteControl/sendkey?key=Key.PowerOn.Standby

If you call that url the device will go into standby, and then on wake it will exhibit the issues identified by myself and others. However if you then power off the device and wake it again, all of this issues are gone; presumably the config is then loaded correctly.

So I guess the 8k devices are going into this mode automatically after a period of inactivity despite it not being fully supported.

(FWIW, I actually really value a standby mode over power off, as it is much faster to wake, and appears to support some of the connect services such as spotify connect whilst in standby. It would be great if this was expanded!)

    Can't replicate bookmark issue.

Set Bookmark Start Time to 5 mins
Started a movie and scrolled to 4 mins then stopped - no play time shown and movie resumes at start (expected behaviour)
Started a movie and scrolled to 6 minutes then stopped - play time is shown and movie resumes at that time

Tested with files started from both Media Center and HT.

Screensaver issue is a know bug and has been reported.

Played more than 15 hours of 1080p movies with z9x8k (latest firmware) from Synology NAS through Ethernet and NFS and no specific EDID : no stuttering/video freeze at all (but I got a few of it with 4K content earlier).
I have also made a reset of my HTCache but nothing can confirm it is the cause (was 1.08gb)

    I hope it helps
