Everyone wants a perfectly functioning media player, but it doesn't exist, something is always wrong. If you're not interested in a cover app, then maybe an Oppo clone would be your ideal player? But it can't play MKV with Dolby Vision, but m2ts work with DV.

Mirror, could you let us know if there are any plans to try improving transfer speeds and subtitles? Also is there any info on when we can expect the firmware with the Disney audio fix?

What's problem with subtitles? will release firmware this week.
About transfer speeds it is a NTFS driver issue, LINUX does not natively support NTFS. Not network related. You will get much faster performance if you use EXFAT or EXT4.

Hmm I see, if I reformat my hard drives to EXFAT will I get full speeds?

The problem with subtitles is with the Default Subtitles option. It doesn't properly follow the Default flag and for me it always enables German subtitles for some reason. I have to turn it off and use the Forced subtitle option.

Also it would be very nice to have more style options. The stroke style is too sharp and ugly looking in my opinion, maybe add a softness option to it. I currently use the Shadow style since it looks nice, but it has no outline around the top or to the left, making it hard to read if the video has a scene with a white background.

What language did you set? System language and subtitle language.
I think it's an abbreviation matching problem.

System language is English, and Default Subtitle is set to "Follow Default Flag". It will always display a subtitle even if the video doesn't have any subtitles with the Default flag. Also for some reason if there's a German subtitle in the file, it will always choose that.

I had to turn off the Default Subtitle option and use the Forced Subtitle option instead, and then I had to remux all my videos that need default subtitles to use the "Forced" flag instead. It was a lot of work!

Mark, I read about BTRFS too and Paragon Linux Driver Pack for Windows. What do you suggest for us windows users to do? Format only our external drives to EXFAT, EXT4 or BTRFS and use an utility through windows to transfer our files? Anyone else who knows about Linux? What's the best option for faster transfer speeds to Zidoo?

I don't use internal drives, but I'd try what @mirror suggests and format to exFAT.

Interesting - I always format NTFS - will I get greater transfer speeds if I format as suggested?

Seems so - I'm a dinosaur and use NTFS for everything :)

Mine subtitles seem to work - forced come on when set - and I have mine as:

    System language: English (United Kingdom)

    Default audio track: Auto
    Default subtitles: off
    Online subtitle: Auto

    Forced subtitle: Auto

    Hi friends

Today I received the zidoo z9x 8k and some of the settings menus have changed with the settings and menus of my z1000 pro and I don't know which option to choose.

Can someone tell me which options to choose or are there already photos with all the settings?

    Thanks

It's almost like someone should start a recommended settings thread...

Unusual suggestion to use ExFat instead of NTFS. The most common and recommended format for speed transfer is NTFS.

Who better than you to do this Mark hahaha!

Jokes aside, there's no need for this anymore as a friend has a video that explains it well.

Previously with my z1000 pro I used smb to watch my movies because I couldn't get nfs to work.

Any advice to get nfs to work correctly?

I imagine it's a problem with my pc computer. Regards

I can't get mine to work as they should and I've tried every possible combination of off and on.

If both settings are on Auto, I get French subtitles on one film and on a TV programme I get English subs during English dialogue. I've had to turn them off for now hoping a fix may be forthcoming...

I've looked but can't seem to find what my new Z30 Pro draws in terms of power in amps

I'll be setting things up this weekend, but I'd like to use the iFi iPower2 instead of the power supply provided by Zidoo which looks to be rated at 2 amps.

iPower2 is rated at 1.8 amps, and I just want to make sure it won't be an issue to use.

Thanks in advance to the knowledgeable folks who post here!
