Well, i should convert your 59.xxx fps stuff to something modern, instead of waiting for a socket that will play it?
You wrote that an Apple of Shield wil play it, so use that model ? A fast socket does not mean it will play *any* obscure DJI format ;)

Please ask! The movie industry shoots at plain 24fps. The theatrical releases are plain 24fps. No dropframe!

That's because most of the home video release still use dropframes. But this doesn't mean the content has actually been shot that way!

Again, it is my work :) And no, for the US market you shoot 23.98 . Sometimes they do move over to 24, and in Europe it is 25.

Really, so there are zero financial or any other 'favors' / obligations involved? it is just plain fanboyism?

Let’s try to be constructive. If the SOC supports it in hw it should play it, if not then fine (like for RTD1619).

It’s not a DJI proprietary format, it’s in the H264 specs on high@L5.2 or main@L5.2.

Well, in that case i would not judge any socket on it's abilitys if it will, or won't play this format. Since then you judge the whole player ( 1619 of 928 ) on this format.
It is obscure, so i assume 99.9 % of the customers could not care at all.

    That's constructive :)

I don’t judge the whole player on that, I love my z9x pro, I just want to use 1 player for all (everything plays perfectly except these h264 ones) and the s928x should play it according to this:

    https://www.cnx-software.com/2023/0...a55-soc-with-mali-g57-gpu-3-2-tops-npu/?amp=1

some other websites says it won’t though so trying to find which is true with Mark.

In Europe it is NOT 25fps... shooting a movie is exactly the same, and it is 24fps! I'm afraid we are misunderstanding each other between "shooting" and "home video / broadcast". But I'll let it go... because we are really OT (and I'm sorry for that).

I bet Mark wished there was money involved! Lol.

Doesn''t have to mean money is in hard coins, can also be some other 'favor'...
My interest is mainly coming from seeing some contributions about another brand that made me wonder... i like to keep things clear :)

IF it is plain fanboyism, he sure does something wrong :)

I'm far too old and wise to be a "fanboy" :D

Nope, if you shoot TV shows in Europe, you use 25 fps. Hell, i just finished one. Theather stuff is 24.

You finally used the word: TV. That's it! So you are referring to home video / tv broadcasting. That's exactly what I was stating since the beginning. But if you shoot a movie for theater release it is 24fps (in US, Europe, Asia or anywhere in the world) and no dropframe ;) (aside from rare cases in which HFR is involved or cases where the release gets to the theater, but was initially mainly produced for home video / broadcast)

Mark one problem I had with PGS subs with the Z9X is that I was having trouble reading them with bright scenes. I mostly use srt subs where you can adjust a black color around each letter so reading becomes way easier.
Is it possible that you could implement this option for PGS subs in Z9X 8k?

You can't do that with PGS Subs because they're a fixed graphic, not text.
