I have 38 full bluray disks and I tested all of them on my Z9X Pro.

One has never worked on any Zidoo player - 'Dolby Atmos Demo Disc 2016'. Another 'Silence of the Lambs' (UHD) gets to menu but on play all I get is a blank screen with audio.

All the rest all eventually get to the menu but show a distinct lack of fluidity with long pauses, audio loss and slowness to get to menu. This is what makes them a pain to use.

Hopefully the new devices not only get to the menu but in a way representative of a stand alone bluray player!

Will the new devices allow for separate volume control options for HDMI and SPDIF (or optical) outputs?

Specifically, I like to use fixed volume through HDMI (using my AVR to control volume) and variable volume through SPDIF (or optical) for music (connected to a separate power amp).

The screenshot from Mark already answered that for you! Sheesh... did you not notice the cheeky ;)?

About BD MENU. I suggest you don't have too high expectations, it's hard to be completely problem-free.
The efficiency will be much faster than 1619, and the compatibility will be better. But I think it is just better.

    Yes - that's what I asked

Is this the view in the new 8K models?
    Has this problem been resolved?

Maybe this can be improved in older players in the next firmware?

    Regards

Hi Mark, seriously disagree - very mature - I had one nearly 3 years ago and sent it back, but now It works buttery smooth and with community VS support as well, is it Hobbyist? A little bit to set up, but I would be comfortable setting one of these up now for a friend and leaving them to it, mine is playing everything I throw at it and is less flaky than my Z9X - I'm even running TV Headend through it. That being said I will buy one of these when released because unfortunately I am that guy

But we never connect external USB hub when we connect the drives to PC then why Zidoo(Z9Xpro) needs it? Especially when its famously used for local media and comes with 3-4 USB slots with one SATA port?
Using external USB Hub can cause bad sectors on drives. Don't you thing this issue should be fixed?

@Markswift2003 Can you share some pictures/images or snaps from the test patterns or movies showing how much the 8K modes are superior in term of picture quality compared to the previous gen models?

f there's really a visible improvement then definitely the existing uses will upgrade.

Hello everyone, I use a USB hub powered by a power supply, it says I have connected 5 hard drives of 10Tb each, this is how I have always had it with my z9x and I have never had any problems, also doing it this way we do not overload the USB ports of the zidoo

So if I connect one 5TB external drive to the Zidoo without power hub, might be damaging/harming the Zidoo or the drive?

Hello, my opinion is that it is not damaged at all. The only thing I recommend is that if you have more than 2 hard drives, do not connect them to all of the Zidoo USBs. In that case, I recommend using a USB hub with external power. With that, we can avoid saturating the USB. from the zidoo and with this we do not ask the zidoo for more energy

Hello! Could you confirm all the developer platform functions - i.e. Getting status, play file, and general http control mode - will remain the same as today?

furthermore, doesn uhd 8000 will now support Raid structure for the two hdd?

    Thanks!

I think we need an official response on this. I plan to connect two 5TB Portable USB drives so I need to know if that's going to be a problem.

    Would something like this work?

Yes it should be fixed but until then, use a 12V 4A brick type PSU as Nice Monkey said.

Does it have to be 12V 4A, or will a 12V 5A brick (like the one I posted above) also work?
