Why would you need another version? It's capable of playing 8K is all, but if you don't have an 8K display or you turn off all AI it shouldn't be altering anything. I've ordered one and I don't have an 8K display.

 

Why? Simple. Lower price. 8k is not used now and I'm fine with 4k.

 

Does this new generation have a better support for the online trailers or still the same as the previous one (i.e. take an age before to start to play the trailer)?

 

That would make it even more expensive for Zidoo to produce more models. I don't use a lot of features, but a different model for each feature would drive up production costs.

 

Doesn't look good for the BD Menu support when you read this...

 

I have the UHD 5000 and trying to compare specs to the 8000. Hard to tell but this might only be an incremental upgrade? The open variables for me still are whether this will be Roon certified in the near future and confirmation of Atmos pass through when playing Atmos music via a music app.

 

According to their Functional Overview, it maybe better: "New Poster Wall 4.0 supports movie trailers and user-friendly custom classification and management."

 

Is the UHD5000 not Roon Ready? The UHD3000 is Roon Ready and works great

some websites mentions the s928x soc supports the following in hardware decoding and others mention it does not:
H.264 AVC HP @ L5.2 up to 4Kp60

Does the soc support that and will my 4k@50 and 4k@60 h264 level 5.2 files play flawlessly on the Z9X 8K?

On my Pro One 8K it shows part of it correctly then stops and shows a slideshow of one frame on 4k@60 videos and on 4k@50 it plays better but you can still see some stutters. So, in other words, it does not playback correctly. Only my shield on plex app and apple tv plays those correctly so far.

Take the UHD3000, it's the same as the UHD5000, it's Roon Ready and maybe it works even better

 

Is the DAC in the UHD8000 only for USB? Does it make any difference in terms of the HDMI outputs? If you are only playing music through HDMI, will you hear any difference between the UHD8000 and the UHD3000 Pro?

 

Are there any picture of the movie synopsis page , presuming we are still going to see and access the list of actors and their bios for that particular movie plus other info like before ?

 

Futeko. I pre ordered first day they appeared and bagged the Z9X 8K for intial price of £220. Final price the next day was £250.

 

Which DAC is used in the UHD3000 Pro?

 

Yeah, had the 3000 swapped it out for a 5000. The music app Atmos playback is actually more important to me then Roon Ready. I’m trying to consolidate boxes so if this became Roon Ready then I can get rid of my Eversolo DMP A6 ME. I switched from the 3000 to 5000 because my library was growing and the poster wall was getting slow. What is unknown is how much of a responsiveness improvement the poster wall will be going from the 5000 to 8000.

 

I find it very odd that an API call cannot return the file name! Maybe the Zidoo API call needs to be re written to cater for revised API.

 

I pre-ordered a Z9X 8K! @Markswift2003 if it's buggy I'll come knocking at your door! (I'm just kidding!!!)

 

Why is HDD support still limited to only 16TB? 24TB drives have been out for a while, and 26TB is just around the corner.
