Yes that's exactly what it must be, but I'm at a complete loss to explain what it is!!

The mysteries of life...Anyway Mark, do you have any news regarding the imminent release of a new firmware?

No, nothing at the moment and the guys have only returned to work today after the Chinese Golden Week holiday.

The iso and BDMV playback over wifi is still not working properly. Just like on the Zidoo Z9X Pro. To name just 1 of the many movies: "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" (4K).

Even though the speed is about to 600 Mbit\s actual net throughput, the NAS is powerful and uses the integrated HDDs, no USB external HDD anymore.

Over Ethernet it works well. However, its not my wifi as I tried other devices over wifi that were able to playback those files just fine.

Jellyfin doesn't work properly, either. Neither the new built-in one from Zidoo, nor Andys version.

No as it doesn't seem to make a difference. I just was seeing if it helped.

  6. For the Zidoo Jellyfin app I had to remove the "shared network folder" paths in my libraries for the Zidoo app to work correctly with the path mapping. No idea why, and that may have had more to do with a small discrepancy in the paths I had compared to what the Zidoo app shows, as noted in a previous post on the last page, but might be worth trying.

I'd updated my server from 10.8.x to the newer 10.9.x thinking that was the issue, but just updating the server didn't fix it for me and even though that 10.9.x server update is the one that stopped the option to add the "Shared Network Folders" in libraries, it kept all the ones that had already been entered until I went in to each one and clicked okay. As soon as that was done, it worked fine on the 8K.

I couldn't get Andy's app to work on the 8K, but didn't try for very long.

Hi thanks, I was able to fix or find at least workarounds for all 3 issues I've observed with the Jellyfin app. I posted everything here: Jellyfin App by Zidoo.

So the remaining issue is just the broken app start. I keep brute forcing the OK button until the app starts successfully. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.

Just tested The goonies ,since im seeing no audio synch issues on any file types

Tried swapping between both the DTS HD MA and DD tracks with no synch issues
tried swapping and using the jog fwd and back , still no synch issues ,and then since i never use them ,i also tried the > and < fwd and back functions at different speeds and still couldnt get it to lose synch

Maybe we need to collate some movies that a few get synch issues with and do it vs the different setups

ie im Z30 8k to denon 3700h to Pana L1500 oled with no synch issues on any audio/video types

I don't think it's anything to do with content, it's to do with hardware, so if anything we could do with knowing peoples' HDMI chain - both those that have sync issues and those that don't.

thats exactly what im meaning :)

thou im going to be adding one of those new Fancyled synch boxes in next week so,im hoping that doesnt screw things up for me since its all working fine ,minus the very rare glitch now (and which i think is mostly just hdmi synch issues chopping and changing sources )

There should be a corrective firmware that works more or less for all the HDMI chains that people have but I understand that it is not easy to implement.

My HDMI chain is Zidoo > AVR > TV

Is it best to report errors for the Zidoo team in this thread or some other way? I have been experiencing issues (track skipping and more) with Music Player 8.0 (mentioned earlier) but didn’t know if others had the same issues, don’t care about MP8, if Zidoo knew about the glitches, etc.

    Same for me.

    Zidoo -> Yamaha a8a avr -> TV

DTS HD and DTS X out of sync, probably standard dts too. Other audio codecs are synced.

played solidly for me so far in the 2-3 hrs i played it in a row . All of my files are on a 4 TB HDD internally on my Z30 8K ie nothing streamed or files outside my Zidoo

Thank you for sharing your experience. I stream Tidal/Qobuz on a different device and only use the Zidoo for ripped multichannel BD-A discs, all stored on a NAS, which I also use to store BDs. I have no issues like this with movies. I thought “reset music library” and a reboot solved the problem but it came back.

So is it the streamed audio having the issue ,or the mch BD-a ,or both ,to narrow things down more (ie i have bluray audios i can test ,but i never use streaming services , so cant check those

It’s the multichannel BD-A albums. I play an album and usually after the first track, it’ll skip to the third, etc.

Couldnt figure out how to play bluray disc albums from MP8 so i assumed m4a format rips

Pet Sounds mch m4a album played track 1 then skipped to 3
Pink Floyd DSOTM m4a album played track 1 then skipped to 3

but if i went back and forth a bit it stopped skipping ,but then couldnt replicate that on next start of MP8

    MCH Sacd albums i checked played normal ie 1 2 3 ...

got hundreds of mch sacd albums so those are what i mostly play for mch music so didnt notice on testing of m4a ones since i was more interested in making sure MCH worked this time ,ie Pro ranges failure to fix it :p
