I'm having a lip sync issue on The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I haven't noticed any other lip sync issues so far. Can anyone try out that movie and see if they have a lip-sync issue? Thanks. If it is a problem, hopefully it can be fixed.

I have watched several movies and TV series with my UHD8000 connected to my Denon AVC-A1HD and I have no sync issues. I would still recommend turning on the Zidoo first and after it finishes its initial boot, you can turn on the AV receiver.

I tried the auto lip-sync on and off in my Marantz 8805 - no difference. A few Good Men and The Accountant are fine, Aliens 4K is not. My old Z9X (non-Pro) did not have this sync issue - nothing else changed in the system.

I would like to upgrade to 1.1.47 to fix the VC1 issue but I'm scared of more widespread sync issues.

BTW Lew Wallace, I just deleted a duplicate title that was screwing up one of my films metadata - immediate change after re-scanning the shares. I have one NAS but multiple SMB shares since it is JBOD and not RAID. No apparent issues updating individual shares.

Just tried it - no problem here on 1.1.38. UHD version - MKV

I am almost certain 1.1.38 didn’t have lipsynch issues back then. I think it has the frame repeat stutter problem on 24Hz movies (24 not 23.976) though that got fixed. Vc-1 also got fixed.

    z9x 8k -> yamaha a8a -> tv

After more testing, the sync problem on dts hd is less sure as some of my files in dts hd has same sync issue on z9x pro. It may be the file but unsure. On truehd it’s clearly a problem on z9x 8k only for me though.

Yes, if I change on the NAS, as soon as I rescan on Zidoo, things change accordingly on poster wall

For the volume changing, you might want to check also these options in the Audio tab:

Ive not been able to help the devs with this lip sync issue, because I can't replicate it, but just to let you know this is their highest priority at the moment.

As mentioned in an other thread ( I had DV stutter) it is solved with a tv update ..gladly

As some others ..just an audio delay left on some files. Otherwise very happy

Yes I have notice this issue lip sync in a few movies, dubbed and not dubbed. In my previous z9x pro don't happen anything. So, can be fixed in a next firmware, or is a problem in the settings (I have mark the same setting than my previous z9x)

OK slight facepalm with the SMB issues.

I did not realise that once you have updated your files you need to go into:

Powerwall > Sources > [Select Source such as SMB] > Menu button on remote> Update

I thought you had to re-scan in the Files > SMB section, as when you go into this section it performs a re-scan of your SMB share (Although still only one of them and not more for me)
Note I was able to finally get the scan on my second share by logging out of the 2nd share and back in again, now it will only scan the 2nd share and not the 1st, so the other way around.
I'm not really sure what this scan is even doing?
There seems to be two scans going on here, one is to just scan the network for available SMB shares and the other is to scan the SMB share itself, but I don't know what for exactly seeing as you have to use Posterwall scan to actually update that.

Also the Posterwall must do it's own scheduled scan at some point as it was clearly updating periodically before I even knew how to force it manually. No idea what this schedule is though.

This issue is extremely frustrating due to the seemingly random nature. I turned off the auto lip sync in both my Marantz 8805 and my Sony TV - no difference at all. So far, I haven't found a MKV that is clearly out of sync other than the latest 4K versions of Aliens & Abyss. I am going to reinsert my Z9X (non 8K) to verify Aliens does in fact play correctly. It certainly does in Infuse on my AppleTV, but Infuse is not bit streaming the audio due to ATV limitations - it internally converts to LPCM so not a good test. I also need to try the theatrical version of Aliens out of curiosity. I don't recall if the SE was done with seamless branching on the disc. I do know ripping a title with seamless branching often results in numerous very small sync issues noted by MakeMKV that are normally invisible.

Still debating updating to 1.1.47 just to fix the VC1 issues. I have way more VC1 encoded BD MKV's that I thought, so this is of some importance.

Normally it should find the files itself. Did you enable auto scan/update in settings?

Can you point me to the exact setting location for this please?

I found the setting and yes it is turned on, which I think it is by default.

    So after testing:

If you add a movie file it is auto detected and updated straight away

If you delete a movie file is is auto detected and removed straight away

But...... if you re-name a movie file it is not detected straight away.

As I found out previously, the poster wall app seems to do a scan of the sources under it's own schedule at some point and so will update eventually.
Took many hours for me last time.

If you want to update straight away you have to manually update in the source list in poster wall.

I also just noticed if you then delete the file you have previously re-named, it does not get auto detected and removed, it's a manual update to force it.

I use ZDMC but I still scan with HT5 so that when I push Info on the remote the details and poster will appear.

But man, it got so many wrong. For example all the Avengers films were scanned as Avengers: Doomsday which I don’t even have. How can the scanner decide “Avengers - Infinity War.mkv” wrong? Apparently three keywords, “Avengers”, “Infinity” and “War” aren’t enough to match the correct film.

I’m sure out of thousands of films in my collection there are many more wrongly matched with some silly films.

I mean sometimes I forgot to remove “_t00” at the end that you get after ripping with MakeMKV but somehow that one was matched with the correct film. So I really don’t understand what it’s looking for.

I must’ve gotten the naming convention wrong, how should I name i.e. Avengers: Infinity War to get it matched correctly?

I think it extracts info from an nfo file. Not sure. It doesnt see it as new if there is still info.
I use TMM to name al my movies..also to rename..so I am not sure what zidoo uses to trigger a refresh/rescan
