zidoo puts a new product on the market full of problems and bugs, never again zidoo, test the products before putting them on the market, this situation is embarrassing by 2024

As long as EDID permits, and Match Frame Rate is switched on, frame rate matching works perfectly.

People often get confused with frame rate and resolution behaviour when using restricted EDIDs and/or files that do not conform to HDMI spec (eg 720p23), but it's very rare for the box to be forced into an incorrect frame rate by such restrictions - it will change resolution first in order to maintain frame rates if the EDID and HDMI spec allows.

All the above is very rare and I assume not the case here, but maybe post a copy of your EDID first so I can see if there's anything awry with it.

Let's start from the fact that no machine is perfect. Even Dune has its problems. In favor of zidoo we have a beautiful graphic interface and a wonderful posterwall. But above all the new AML S928X range, can be used as a network audio streamer exactly like the Eversolo. The Dune can only dream of all these things!

 

Yes soundbar is connected to the EARC Port, and the Z9X the another HDMI 2.1 port.

 

In that case you should be good - eARC passes TrueHD so audio spits out the Zidoo to the TV and back out eARC to the soundbar.

 

It appears Digital Signage Mode isn't working properly in this firmware. I've set a number of Favorite Scene Bookmarks on various files and the Zidoo isn't going to those timestamps when playing the file from the configured list. Instead it just starts playing the file from the beginning. This was not an issue with the previous Z9X.

 

Is Apple Music usable for others (I have Z9X 8K)? I tried many times to login, and when I finally did, it was really difficult to navigate. I’m hoping to use it for Atmos music.

 

Recommend using the mobile control app with Apple Music. Easier than the remote controller. But, still, Apple Music app is not stable. A new version for andriod is already out.

 

I have problems sometimes using TIDAL - I have a wireless mouse to overcome the difficulties

 

Thank you for your reply. Are you suggesting the Zidoo mobile control app or Apple Music mobile app and AirPlay? Hopefully the Apple Music app will be improved in the next update.

 

For me, that "beautiful graphical interface" and "wonderful posterwall" are completely broken as well. The system loads them 1/3 the time. The other 2/3 it'll crash HT5 entirely back to the original screen. And, even after the posters have loaded, it'll typically still crash when trying to open content further.

Zidoo shoudn't get a free pass for their garbage, half-baked software. They shouldn't have put this product out until it was tested.

 

The Zidoo Controller app. It has a cast function so you can interact with the Zidoo directly on your phone or tablet. Makes using apps such as Apple Music much easier.

Nor do I with a Z9X 8K.

 

On my Z3000 Pro I created and customized all the user interface screens and buttons with Photoshop, also all the posters, fanart of the films, TV series and Poster Wall collections and everything works perfectly.
