can confirm they do not work right now..even with embedded lyrics or lyrics in the folder

 

The icon itself had a Chinese word on it, presumably meaning "lyrics".

 

there is only next to the play button ( on the song screen) a slider that allows to switch on lyrics or not. It always says none.

 

I think we're getting lost in irrelevant details here - I only mention the original icon because I remember reporting it to the devs to be fixed - It was fixed in v1.1.35 and this was pre release as far as I remember.

So I would expect I'd have looked at the lyrics and checked they were working too. But that would have been the only time I ever looked at lyrics as it's not a feature I'd ever use which is why I assume they were working in earlier versions.

Regardless, this will be reported.

Laserdisc will always have a special place for me.

 

Ah - I never had a Laserdisc player - but my god, what witchcraft that was!!

And I remember my first Dolby Digital demo in a HiFi shop in Stockport - utterly blown away.

I remember the first DD5.1 demo in an independent TV shop. It was The Matrix on DVD. They demo' d the bullet time scene on the roof top. Blew my mind when the bullets zinged past me!

 

@Markswift2003 Is it necessary to connect the Z9X to a dolby atmos soundbar, to get TrueHD? I still get the "Dolby vision, Dolby atmos via soundbar" logo on the TV when the Z9X is connected to the Tvs HDMI 2.1 port?

 

Frame matching continues to malfunction. If the global settings resolution is set to Auto, 60hz - most videos frame rates aren't matched and frames are skipped and weird video artefacts appear in movies that are 23.95 or 25 fps but are played at 60hz.
If I manually lock the resolution in the global settings to a specific rate, playing movies with the same fps is great, but other movies with different fps are jittery.

 

When is Zidoo going to return the option in menus to set the UI screen to Cinemascope??
