For me the latest firmware is great for my UHD3000. I only watch movies and TV series so for me the speed up and restoration of source named subtitles was a relief. Trailers appear to be ok although I tend to use local. I don’t listen to music at all on the Zidoo. So I guess it’s “horses for courses”. So far the only error I’ve found is when you press More to see the media info the right hand of the pop up is clipped halfway through the text. I can live with that!

Are you saying then that this will affect UAPP too? I've installed the new f.w on my Z1000Pro but haven't tested the USB output yet through my Eversolo Z8 Dac.

Maybe @Nice Monkey could comment here?

probably it would have, but with a (very) extensive library and with multiple sources, a simple upgrade that kept all settings and data was always going to be my preferred option
I am very happy it has worked out fine, for my use.

With this new firmware I have not noticed any difference in speed and fluidity, compared to the previous v6.4.65. Among other things, I had already installed the HT5 apk in the previous firmware and everything had sped up. I use the UHD3000 for everything, both films, TV series and streaming music and before this update the USB audio output worked very well so this new firmware is no good for me. Instead I would like to understand why the Zidoo team went to negatively modify the USB audio output, there was no reason to do so!

If others can confirm, then maybe worth flagging this to Mirror.

No no, with this new firmware UAPP continues to work very well but I don't use it anymore because in the home even with the dac turned off, I continuously get a warning that says that usb audio player pro wanted to use the usb port of the dac. I never managed to eliminate this warning and I couldn't stand it anymore.

I don't think they'll make a new firmware to fix the usb audio out. We should be thankful that they've released this latest firmware for the entire RTD1619DR range. I don't think they'll ever release firmware for the RTD1619DR again.

Yeah I have this issue on my UHD3000 with the latest firmware as well. This is a major bug that needs addressed. The more tracks you have, like multiple subtitles, commentary, etc. the worse that it is. Also I can't believe the audio channel info is STILL not reporting correctly even though MediaInfo is reading it correctly. I know we are lucky to even get firmware updates these days, but I have to think they're going to stop now that new boxes are out. Shame they still have some lingering issues that need addressed before calling it quits. I'm debating on reverting back to the previous firmware for the MediaInfo cut off alone. HT5.0 was a big upgrade, the new firmware update feels more like 1 step forward 2 steps back.

Revert to the previous firmware like I did and live happily. After that you can decide whether to stay with HT4 or install the HT5 apk

For me the clipped More access to the MediaInfo is not important compared to the overall improvement. It’s cosmetic as it is still available when you are playing a file. Plus for me I nearly always include a copy of the MediaInfo file in the same folder as the movie. So my movie folders are all complete with posters and fan art and trailers. Would never consider going back. I just hope there is one more update that includes NFO refresh

To each their own, but I don't like buggy software and this is an obvious, noticeable bug. If it was cutting off all the poster art every time you opened the poster wall and the argument was "Well you can still see the poster in other places" that's just not good enough for a media player of this caliber. It just looks unprofessional. Especially since it was never an issue before and was only introduced in the new firmware. I'm not noticing any other significant upgrades with the latest firmware so I will be reverting back and keeping HT5.0 which was a significant upgrade for me. I hope they introduce a future firmware with it corrected, but not holding my breath!

Screenshot_20240807-064104.png I’ve just checked a few more titles in my library and they are ok. It appears to be a formatting problem with the Video column being too wide rather than wrap the text down. Should be easy to fix. I don’t know if in the programming it would be possible to issue a small fix?

Interesting. The few titles I checked all had the issue. It’s gotta be a very easy fix, but will they address it and actually push out another update is anyone’s guess?!

Yeah.. this is definitely the absolute LAST firmware this box is getting and I'm sticking with it.. the improvements for me far outweigh the drawbacks..

I only use my box for movies, so the sound issues for music playback have zero affect on me..I do use the more media info selection but even then, most of the info I'm looking for is in the first column...

Posterwall is greatly improved, proper subtitle names is huge for me and I am noticing that I can pause and return to a movie multiple times (52 year old prostate) without synching and stuttering issues that would arise in previous firmwares...

    I'm a happy camper!

I had mine removed 20 years and at 86 no problems. I can sit through a 3 hour movie these days:)

I think even at the age of 100 you will be faithful zidoo
Despite their disdainful attitude towards customers

Not many companies respond to forum complaints. This is a pity as they have a good resource in the membership. However for what I need from my UHD3000 it does everything I need it to do and cosmetics that don’t impair the fundamental operation don't bother me. So this firmware is optimistically the penultimate update, it has fixed the subtitles and made the whole operation far more speedy. I’m an optimist and if there is a problem that I can fix, I’ll fix it or find a workaround, I suspect that’s a generational thing.

Optimism and pragmatism seem to be a dying art unfortunately.
