sometimes ive had this because i knocked the ressolution button on the remote
slowly hit it wait a few secs then try again repeat a few times till you get a resolution in your tv/reciever range, then you can set it back to normal range

 

I say hit the resolution button cause sometimes me and a few others have had a black screen and pressing the resolution button seems to be the only thing to bring it back to normal. Turns out an unsupported setting and a bug caused my zidoo to boot with a black screen. Also changing to many settings especially the 16-255 or whatever the setting is called. That caused me to get a black screen on boot.

 

thanks guys, the resolution button hasn't worked. The front of the Zidoo shows 1080p. That never changes when I press the resolution button. Any other ideas. I looked at the unbrick instructions, but immediately get stuck since I don't know what a UART is.

 

I have a problem with the subtitles in mkv files. I don't remember this type of problem in previous versions.

There are no subtitles on the picture or in your Tree file description above. Also this looks like a 1080p remux of a 4k file. If that is the case then I've had issues with those kinds of files before but nothing to do with subtitles.

 

mine did the same thing when they came out with the first update. I gave up on it and left it plugged in but off for a few weeks and then when I went to take it out of service, it started up just fine. Who Knows?

 

I got it back up. I followed the Emergency Flash Procedure, although it didn't display any information indicating any updating. But after I let it sit for 15 minutes on this process I restarted it and it came up.

ok i save a logo named "1917"-clearlogo.png at the path in Media Center "storage/HomeTheater/Logos but the logo doesn´t show

 

Is it a PNG file?
Is it exactly the same name as your movie file?

 

It works exactly the same as local artwork - it goes in the movie folder

 

I've updated the File Suffixes and naming pdf with details of local art.

Also posted to the Recommended Settings sticky.

There are a couple of issues with the Z9X firmware to iron out before the rest are released - Us Z9X users are the guinea pigs

 

Sorry, nobody noticed the problem with the subtitles I wrote about earlier?

 

I see too on embedded UTF-8 Plain Text, but now I can't reproduce, maybe relate to subtitle color setting.
