It's not going to do dynamic tone mapping because that's not what LLDV (Profile5) is - as a stream it's basically preprocessed with a static ST.2084 curve but VS10 is pretty good I have to say - great thing is, depending what EDID you feed it, VS10 spits out in full time SDR, HDR or LLDV for any input of SDR, HDR or DV. Conversion is very good and certainly the most stable as far as black clipping goes. I haven't sussed out the full list of DV profiles and levels yet - for example I'm not entirely sure what's going on when you give it a Profile 7 MEL stream yet - it spits out LLDV (assuming you have an LLDV EDID) but I assume that's by way of the HDR10 base layer, but because it's Dolby's engine, it may take into account the RPU. VS10 HDR to SDR is excellent, and so is HDR to LLDV so we have a lot of options. I haven't had this in the cinema yet since it's far easier to test on a TV, especially near a PC, but it'll be interesting to see how it performs in there once we get a bit more closer to a release. I think once the major bugs are ironed out, and they're dropping like flies, it'll be very interesting to see if VS10 can be made to do full time SDR.2020. @mirror, what do you reckon
Never mind about VS10 and Tone mapping !! its far more important that my Z10X gets delivered on the 14th My Birthday 7 days and counting still...........
Back on topic ! early days yet but anyone noticed a very slight bump / difference in picture Quality etc ( more 3D look to it ) From the old Z series Or we have reached the peak so to speak ........
https://androidpctv.com/review-zidoo-z9x-opinion/comment-page-1/#comment-5068 In the review the CPU only clocks to 1.3Ghz. The temperatures are quite low. Is this the maximum frequency for the CPU in Z9x or is it a firmware bug? Single core performance is equal to z9s at those speeds it seems very conservative.
Who is correct i wonder Thats whats confusing Dune b and Zidoo a but same chipset thats why i mentioned it .
HLG is supported by the RTD1619 chipset in general and used by some (Cable/Satellite) streaming services: HLG is defined in ATSC 3.0, Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) UHD-1 Phase 2, and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Rec. 2100. HLG is supported by HDMI 2.0b, HEVC, VP9, and H. 264/MPEG-4 AVC, and is used by video services such as BBC iPlayer, DirecTV, Freeview Play, and YouTube. By the way I can't login to Youtube?
There is no substantial difference between them. Don't worry about it. The support of HLG depends on the processing capability of the chip
Ebay that ones on But it a shop in the uk its done deliberate as they have sold out of the model But if you get someone that desperate to buy one well............. Mine is on the way hopefully 18th , 19th delivery Z10X
