There is no such automatic switching, but the HDMI output is changed in 2 seconds using the button on the remote control.

Ok, thanks. Do you happen to know what the behaviour is of the scenario I described, irrespective of HDMI port? I.e. if I'm watching a movie, or device is in standby etc, and I play music via tidal connect, will it just start playing the music? Or do I manually need to select tidal connect as the source every time?

Hello! I own a Zidoo Z9X PRO 8k. I would like to know if certain problems can be solved for this device:
    1. The first problem is what is displayed on the device's display. Can it display how much of a track or movie is left? It is totally useless to count the seconds since you start playing.
    2. Another big problem is access to hard drives and even internal memory. Any application I tried could not use access to the external HDD/internal memory due to the non-implementation of the "OPEN_DOCUMENT_TREE" function. What is the logic behind making a dedicated Sata connection to the Zidoo just so that you can only access the hard drive via SMB? I understand that this is not what the player is made for, but it is still Android. That is, you install app on _G from the Google Play store but you cannot write data to the external HDD. Wonderful!
    3. Another problem is that the time/date is completely wrong after any reset. I understand that it doesn't have an internal battery installed, but why doesn't it automatically take the date and time from the internet, even though the setting is active? So I have to go into the settings to change the date every time I reset...
    4. In certain situations after I pause a movie and press the back button, the hdmi signal with the tv is lost and nothing appears on the screen. If I change the source on the tv to something else and then go back to the zidoo hdmi then the hdmi connection is activated and everything returns to normal.
On another note, the 8K version is a step forward and pretty much everything I tested works great except for Sacd and the conversion to PCM/MCH but maybe in the future it will solve this too. Combined with Stremio it is almost perfect but more can be done on this player. Thanks for your attention...

Hello! I'm going to buy a Z3000PRO to replace the Z9x. A couple of questions, if you don't mind. The manual says: "The Z3000PRO supports the playback of CDs via an external CD-Rom". What does that mean? Can I connect an external CD-ROM? How? Can I connect an OPPO-103, for example?

Yes, you can connect an external CD-ROM via USB port, but not a CD player. OPPO-103 is not supported.

Thanks for the answer! Let me clarify a little. Is it possible to connect an external Blu-ray drive, not a CD drive? I want to try to play Blu-ray audio discs on the z3000pro. Will this drive, for example, work?

    Hi @Eki Shaw

I have two excellent Z9X players. Just wonder if it would be possible to generate apk with newer Media Center for the older devices? I'm specially interested Network section and all the build in clients like Jellyfin.
Any plans to release the update for older players with this client package?

Hi, I'm afraid there will be no plans for that

Without reading the entire thread.... I have some questions about the Z30 Pro 8K:
    - can it play Atmos Music from Amazon Music? If yes, do I have to (or can I) use the Amazon Music app or an internal app of the Z30?
    - can it play an MKV Atmos? For example a rip from Gabriel I/O Atmos?
    - it can play Tidal Atmos, right?
    - does it support SMB 1?
    - can it play DSD, DSF, DFF? Can it output DSD directly without conversion to PCM?
    - does it support "Tune In" radio?
    - which audio formats can the Z30 NOT play, which the DMP-A6 can play?

As you can see, I´m actually more interested in music and would love to have something like an A6, but it doesn´t support Atmos and there´s also no possibility to see its UI on a TV, which is pretty nice sometimes. You could easily choose your music on TV and then turn TV off and just listen to music. Which brings me to another question:
    - can I turn the HDMI video output off easily? Background: My TV and AVR are using HDMI CEC. That means, if I turn off the TV, my AVR also shuts down. In most cases that´s fine. But in this case, while listening to music, it´s bad, of course. On my Oppo there´s a "Pure Audio" button on its remote control, which just shuts off the HDMI video output. HDMI audio is still on. So my TV is still "on", but totally black (it´s an OLED). Very handy feature.

Hi Eki: thanks for the tutorial! I have configured the smb mapping however I can't get Blu-ray menu to work in Emby, when I click "Play" it starts to play the main content directly. Is it supposed to be like that or do you know a way to play Blu-ray menu within Emby client? Many thanks in advance!

Why wont the Z3000 display 4:3 material correctly? Sure I can manually toggle to 4:3 in the picture settings but as soon as another episode starts, gone. It is pretty annoying.

Works here - does the file have DAR specified correctly (ie 4:3)?

Hi Mark. I did a bit more digging. My BD rip of The Next Generation works properly. But 4:3 DVD rips do not display properly. They Zidoo also screws with framerate. Maybe this is a limitation of Zidoo boxes? This rip is a 4:3 DVD @ 24fps (media info on the Zidoo poster confirms all of this).

You can see the nasttly stretch going on. I can fix this by toggling to 4:3 but exiting out and playing again, resets the picture setting and it's being stretched again.

Not really sure what's going on there - according to the first pic the file isn't 4:3, it's approx 4:2.74, so its wider than 4:3 and the framerate is 29.97 not 24Hz which is standard for NTSC DVDs. So I assume it's a cropped NTSC rip.

Is DAR defined in the file?

Goodness knows why it's playing at 60Hz. Have you got Auto Frame Rate switched on?

Yes. Media info (app) on my Win11 PC shows DAR as: 4:3 in the file itself. I have no clue what is going on either. What I do know is the 5+ year old Nvidia ShieldTV via the Emby app, plays it back perfectly. Obviously not the case with the Z3000.

Sorry, forgot to comment on your other points. Yes, auto rez and refresh rates are ALWAYS enabled for player and 3rd party apps. In regards to your aspect ratio, what makes you think this file (704x480) is wider than 4:3? But either way, 704x480 is well within DVD specifications.
