Is a way in zidoo players when turn of is stil remain clock on display in standby mode?

Got some questions and I suspect you are the only ones expertized in these narrow topics?
Just found my way in to this forum and after some oogling around the forum I thought mebbe this 8K thread is the right place to went my ultranoob questions.
Case scenario background is that I am upgrading my home cinema setup (that is of an age equal or surpassing when the dinosaurs roamed the globe)
I have just ordered a fake 4K projector and a modest Yamaha Surround receiver (almost saht my pants when VISA called and asked if I had a stroke or something judging from my derailing my cheapskate nature?!?), I need a mediaplayer also and this is where your feedback and expertise comes in much appreciation!
Looking at my small pile/tower made up from old Dune mediaplayers dating way back since from when they first popped up, but theyre outdated now and I hear good things about Zidoo

Has anyone both the 8K Zidoo/8KDune and is my appraisal for Zidoo correct and they are the way to go?

Would you recommend the 3000 OR the 8000 series 8K Zidoo player?

Behold my ordered stuff, it "only" is 4K compatible and the above Zidoo's are stamped 8K,
this might be incredibly self evident but will these 8K Zidoo's make a better job of upscaling to 4K and also comfortably compatible with my 4K projector / 4K AV Reciever?
(I'm asking both if this is the best choice I can make, and if the above 8K players does a better job of upscaling to 4K also than the smaller Zidoo players in the 4K Zidoo marked series?

Is there some easy way yours truly can access my PC Harddrive directly to transfer or stream to/from the Zidoo?
(I hope you have a link to "for dummies videos" how to set up the Zidoo My PC is not fresh of the shelves but it is supposed to have both Wifi & Bluefalseteeth due to mentioned seniority)

Updating literally from the stoneage to modern era I am very happy I found the forum and you forummates, no hiding under the table that my knowledge belongs in the antiquevariums of historical knowledge *blushing*
Also again I am very happy to have found my way to you forummates and I look very much forward to with your recommended choice between the 3000/8000 8K player whichever is your educated suggestion!

(Now I gonna go and look through my wardrobe and see if my old Balaklava is still left after paying my previous home cinema theater and screw off the registry plates from my rustbucket of a Peugeot...
(Hmm in case anyone is Autistic the latter was a joke, typical swedish dry humor and also the reason we dont use air dehumidifiers over here)

I dunno if my old setup is of any interest to anyone and of any weight for the answers to the myriad of questions above?
Going from;
AV Receiver; Sherwood "Newcastle" A-756R (Year 1991?!? Only had it for like 35yrs but I suck @ dates :/ )
Tapedispenser; Panasonic S-VHS nv-fs90 (Year 1992?)
Projector; Panasonic PT-AE4000E (Year 2009, it replaced my Sharp XV370P I think it was called "my precious" at an amazing 80 x 100 pixels!!!
MediaPlayers; Not certain which Dune is the freshest in the stack, should be either the HD BASE 3.0 (2009ish?) or the DUNE HD BASE 3D (2012ish?)?
LaserDisc; Pioneer DVL-9 the Japanese import "Gold" model
Speakers; Monitor Audio Silver/Gold, 4 x RX8, 2 x RXFX, 1 Center Goldsomething, and lastly my g/f talking during the movies, so 8 Speakers in total
Screen; Cheapest Kjell & Co Screen known to humankind, it has more sags and wrinkles than a fatty after diet - then it went downhill with age! (I wont disclose my weight, you already guessed my senility, sorry I mean seniority through my setup here

Ordered stuff;
AV Reciever; Yamaha (Omg I am so worried about them OHMZ and frying the entire stack when I hit the proverbial ON button 8[
Projector; Optoma 4K UHD, 3840x2160 (via pixelshift)
(Same Speakers, LaserDisc, VHS, Kjell&Co Screen and some old crackelated cables pulled out from demolished housing walls...)

And mediaplayer for this as per your feedback, maybe the 8K 3000 or the 8K 8000?

 

Is there any possibility that the current lineup will ever get native Amazon music support, as the official Android Amazon music app doesn't play bit perfect audio, downsamples everything to 48K.

 

Does anyone know if the Z9X or Z3000 supports Atmos via Tidal Connect?

 

Yes, I have a Z9X 8K and Atmos plays via Tidal connect.

 

Oh damn that's great news. Are you happy with the quality generally?

 

Yes. There are still a few bugs to iron out but overall it's great.

 

Good to know. I think I'll have to pick one up. I've been hunting for an Atmos capable tidal connect steamer for years. Can't believe it's finally here at a reasonable price point. Thanks

 

One more question sorry, have you tried Atmos over Apple music also?

 

I also have the Zidoo Z9X 8k, having an issue with HT (Home Theater), its not showing all the episodes that I downloaded to my NAS, to give an example, Tulsa King 6 episodes (till now), on HT it only shows episodes 2,3 and 6, when I leave HT and go to Plex it shows all six episodes. Am I doing something wrong? never had this problem with my Dune, its quite annoying cos via HT I get Dolby Atmos, unfortunately when using Plex I only get Dolby Digital Plus + surround. This I can see when using my Denon X4700H.

 

Are the Atmos tracks much lower volume than stereo tracks?
Can you also play Atmos music from Amazon?

 

Yes I did have Apple Music and Atmos works. I do find with Atmos on Tidal connect that sometimes when one Atmos track ends and the next starts there is no audio. Pause and play brings audio back. Don't get that with non Atmos tracks.

 

On Tidal connect Atmos and non Atmos are similar volume. Don't have Amazon music.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this question, but, how do I add custom poster image for a custom collection. I created a new collection for Alfred Hitchcock, but the collection poster defaults to the first movie added to the collection. Not finding an option to change it to a custom poster, is there a way to upload a custom poster?

In HT press and hold the OK button when on the collection. You will get screen giving you option to select a collection poster - if they exist. If you don't see any you can click the + button on poster\background fanart page to select your own.

 

Thanks @blenky , will give it a try. I was trying to do this from the browser interface for the HT, and couldn't see an option. Will try with the UI interface..

Why doesn't trailer playback work on Z9x-8K media player?
Why doesn't the position of the subtitle work with the up/down button on the remote control? Ticked in the settings..

 

Is it possible to automatically have streaming and music player output over the audio HDMI port and video from emby, poster wall etc automatically output over the main HDMI on uhd8000 / 3000 pro? For example, say I was watching a video from poster wall over the main HDMI output, if I then sent music to it via Tidal Connect, will it automatically pause the video and switch output to the audio HDMI port?
