Would love to hear his comment.

I've tried different settings like TV LED (RGB 8bit) and LLDV (YUV422 12Bits) but all the same results. DV does indeed look dull compared to HDR10.

Not really much to add - Dolby Vision (at least Profile 7 and 8) are HDR10 based and although there will be differences due to dynamic metadata used in DV, the differences are relatively minimal, at least squirting out from the player. Both are spitting out an HDR10 encoded image.

I didn't reply earlier because my initial reaction was "no it isn't" and I've learnt that people don't like that kind of comment :) .

If you genuinely think DV looks dull against HDR10 then I can only think it's the display doing that.

Thanks for the reply and it does make sense in theory in what you are saying.
May I ask what display you are using? I'm using an LG C4 (latest model).

I'm also wondering if you have compared the same movie remux file in DV and HDR10?

I've showed at least 5 different people and all mentioned that the HDR10 is much better than the DV colour wise.

It's the same result on my NVIDIA Shield Pro so it's definitely the TV but LG C4 is known as one of the best displays for Dolby Vision.

My new Z9 8X comes today. I currently have a Z2000 Pro which uses the better V12 remote. I am planning on keeping the Z2000 on and use the internal HD as an SMB source for the Z9 8x only. Is there anyway to unpair the V12 remote from the Z2000 and pair it with the new box so I can use it instead of the included subpar remote? I dont want it to control the Z2000 though just the Z9 8X. I can use the app if i need to on the Z2000.

Remember both boxes react to the same IR codes...

Oh so even if I unpair the V12 and pair with the new box they will both be reacting?

Doesn't the remote use IR to turn the unit on? Meaning even if unpaired the on command would turn both on?

Yes, Bluetooth and IR are sent simultaneously.

But if you just want to use the old box as a source and leave it on, you could cover the IR receiver (shine a torch on the window to see where it is).

I'd probably take the lid off and cover the receiver internally with a little cardboard hood or something...

I just got my Z9 8X and am liking overall but I am confused about some things? So on my Z2000, in the music player settings I was able to choose which SACD area I preferred, MCH or Stereo. I cannot seem to find this option in MP8. It just plays the MCH layer and I cannot figure out how to play the 2 channel layer. Is there a way to select which one you want or switch it?

Also do the lyrics not work in the new models? I like that feature but so far nothing I have played has lyrics and there doesn't even seem to be an option to search? The Z2000 lyrics function works most of the time, even if some of the matches are off a little.

A lot of artwork for major releases is not coming up as well. Just blank. I would think these would have a match somewhere. They are not obscure releases.

Apologies if these have been addressed before I couldn't find posts on these.

No issues with playing movie or tv shows yet but I haven't tested every file I have.

I do wish I had gone with the Z2000 as I miss the bigger clock in my living room lol. Maybe for Xmas. I just didn't want to spend almost $700 and have some of the issues I have with MCH music on the Z2000.

  15. Being somewhat of a new Zidoo user, I am very confused on their offerings. The Zidoo Neo Alpha appeared to be their flagship offering the best of both audio and video. I liked the large touch screen and dual HDMI features as well as 3D coverage. However, I can't find any of these for sale anywhere. It appears the 8K player is now only out for video and Eversolo is only out for audio. Is there no longer going to be a flagship player for both audio and video? I'd like the flagship but can't find it for sale and I'm not sure what to purchase? Maybe a new 8k flagship is being built? Any suggestions? Thanks

The new flagship is the UHD8000. However all the new 8K range have the exactly same video quality. The differences between them being whether they offer HDD bays and\or better music audio capabilities. Note that the new players do not support 3D.

  17. Thanks. I just read through all 93 pages of comments on this one (seriously). I do want the album art touch screen very badly which doesn't look to be offered yet on these players. I'm willing to wait a while if there is any possibility they will offer that in the future. Right now they only look available on the eversolo products.

I doubt very much they will add any new models to the 8K line.

I'll add the RAM and eMMC memory which are very important differences/improvements as well.

To call UHD8000 a flagship model? It is now the top model for this range for sure.

Maybe one day an Alpha Amlogic equivalent with a 6 inch front panel and dual DAC equivalent of Eversolo A8 will see the light. I would like that one to be a full MCH model with additional 8x RCA outputs using that 2nd DAC. The DSP obviously should be Dirac compatibel. There is a market for such a high end player for sure but first the FW needs to be flawless as it will get expensive (guessed around 4K Euro).
