Hardware wise? Yes a decent upgrade. Picture Quality wise? It will be just the same as the Z9X pro .
Z9X pro PQ is already superior so there will be a very little to not noticeable kinda improvement in that regard.

I have customized it, still don't care for it. Just personal preference.

    Hi Mark,

I think you have dune 8k amlogic.
My friends says dune sounds more powerful than zidoo z9x pro.
I think there is a chipset difference.
    What dou think about?

Dune do not offer anything like Zidoos in terms of audio performance.

As far as HDMI goes, audio is a bitstream so the same ones and zeros squirt out of each box.

As far as analog audio goes, there is simply no comparison - the Dunes are not even worthy of comparison because they don't have the same hardware.

I am not agree with you for hdmi out.
I used a lot of media player.
For examp zidoo z9x's sound was bad at first, it got better with next next software.

Why no pre-orders on Zidoo's Aliexpress store ? I am based in Brazil and for me it would be much better from a Tax perspective to order from Aliexpress, where Zidoo has a direct store - it is kind of strange a third party site like Futeko (which seems to be very good, BTW) has it for pre-order, but Zidoo themselves still do not on their own store.

Hey Zidoo, please help me :), as I want to purchase it soon!

Hello, I want to buy a good power supply for the new zidoo Zx9 8k, can you tell me what rating I should buy?
    or do you recommend one?

Keces Audio and SBooster, are two premium alternative power supply.

iFi Audio may also be a good choice.

It all depends on the level of requirements and the price you want to involve.

Does it have to be 12v/5A?

Ideally the electrical value should be the same as the original power supply.
The voltage must be the same.
The amperage can be the same, or a little higher without problem, but not lower.

12v 2A, but changing the power supply will make no difference to anything.
In the case of DTS-HD for example, which would sound better?

    010110100011000110001110 from a Dune

    010110100011000110001110 from a Zidoo

Below is taken from the Z9X 8K users manual - found on Futekos site. It refers to AI Image enhancement. Doesn't make much sense to me!

Note: AI image enhancement only applies to videos with 1080P resolution or lower and is effective when the current output is higher than 1080P. Please disable the "Match frame rate and resolution" feature when enabling this option.

According to your opinion, it's yours.

I affirm that it influences everything, I have tested and verified it on almost all the devices I have had over the last 30 years.

The only important thing is to know whether the gain (which can be very variable) brought by a more efficient power supply is significant or not, for the person who chooses the modification, according to their own assessment criteria.

The big problem in this type of case, is the unfortunate, almost systematic, mania of those who consider for themselves that the gap is not sufficient for them to find it interesting (according to their own criteria of use and evaluation), to assert to other than the modification changes nothing.

    240v x.35 amp = 84w approx

    84w / 12v = 7 amps approx

not accounting for all the normal losses ,but still an easy 5-6 amps to run stuff id guess

    Shiney :)

I guess I spoke too soon about how polite this forum is compared to certain others. (AVS)

I think the same, I think that a good diet has great benefits, especially in audio.

I just hope that with all AI options off the Z9X 8K won’t oversharpen the image like the Dune Pro One 8K does. It can look kinda bad on grainy movies on the pro one 8k.

My Dune real vision 4k plus seemed oversharpened compared to my Z9X Pro and they both used rtd1619 so oversharpening seems like a Dune processing choice more than a SOC forced thing but I will see for myself when I get the Z9X 8K.
