    Question that has not been answered.
    Is the ai picture enhancement thing on all boxes, or only on the most expensive one.

    According specifications on the Zidoo pages AI is for all models including Z9X 8K.
    I think all SOC related FW features are the same for the whole series.

    If you are absolutely not interested in Music Player/Streamer and/or finally playing BD ISO with Menu's then you could do that.
    The improvements are still considerable but may not be worth a swap to you for any model you own.

    On the UHD8000 with the Amlogic S928X-K, regarding the internal HDD connection interface,
    do we know if it is "real" Sata, and do we know the bandwidth ?

    (I ask, because regarding my current Neo Alpha and the RTD1619DR, I think I read somewhere
    that the Sata bus, due to the limitations of the chipset, was limited and behaved more like a USB bus,
    than like a real Sata connection full flow.)

    Sorry but USB3.2 and USB4 are much faster than SATA3. Anyway bus speed would only improve read/write/copy doing it from SSD to SSD.
    In my total setup Gigabit Ethernet and HDD speed are the limiting factors with any media player. Not USB3.0 nor the SATA connector.

    That SATA connector is yes a limiter for the Maximum HDD size which is 17.2 TByte (=32-bit 4k sectors).

    Occasionally do large scale HDD disc copies using a 5-Slot USB3c Docking Station. With a single USB3.1 port can do 4 writes in parallel all running at maximum disc speed using my PC 4 HDD slots as the source. Some discs still take more that 10 hours to copy.

    Hi @Markswift2003 , emby is now listed on officials supported network protocols, does that mean one can add an emby server to poster wall source list?
    Or just we can sideload emby android app like always?

    on subs side, can we now really change the size of embedded subs or it behaves like on the current gen?
    Thank you

    @Nice Monkey

    Sorry, I expressed myself badly, or rather I forgot to specify certain things :
    I don't make "standard" use of the drive's internal HDD bay.

    In my use, the internal HDD bay houses a high-end SDD solely intended to contain the posters/images folder from my video library.
    I only use this SDD to try to gain a little fluidity in the navigation of the Poster Wall application and the display of images.
    (All my video and media playback is done from a NAS)

    Normally, the fact that this folder is on an SSD internal to the drive should have speeded up the loading of images,
    compared to an image folder hosted on an IDE hard drive or on my NAS.
    Except this is not the case, I do not gain any additional fluidity.

    I even tried to place the image folder on the PCIe M2 SSD of the motherboard, but the same observation:
    No gain in the loading time of images in Poster Wall, and therefore no gain in smooth navigation in the application. ..

    A while ago I looked into the reason, and I seem to remember reading, that limitations of the RTD1619DR
    (PCIe lanes or something similar) meant that even if the physical connection in the internal drive bay,
    was indeed Sata, the data transfer and the bandwidth were not that of Sata, but was managed by the chipset and the bus, like USB2.

    So I wanted to know if this same problem could be present with the new Amlogic chipsets...

    @Akhnaten
    I understand that library performance was limited mostly by the processing power doing that job. The new SOC has 2x processing power and the process was optimized.
    Should be much better but unrelated to USB or SATA throughput.

    I see also big RAM being used ( 6 GByte or 8 GByte) and that is for caching which they now use a lot.
    The OS is still 32-bit so direct RAM access is 3.2 GByte maximum.

    I have a few additional questions Z9X 8K:

    1. What remote control model ? (Can Zidoo remote controls work in the old way? i.e. I need IR (IrDA) )

    2. Supports special effect subtitles ( What are these special effects? ), automatic download of network subtitles (what website are the subtitles downloaded from?)

    Is the subtitle search improved so that it looks like in the picture:

    [IMG]

    Now the situation is that we don't know what the subtitles are for and which version:

    3. I see in the photos that it is without antennas - are the antennas unscrewed?

    Ok - so the antennas are not unscrewed and the remote control has orange buttons, i.e. V11
    I'm waiting for the rest of the answers :)

    I think that's for the music player.

    Emby and Plex typical are for both music and movies. I do expect both to work with the new players.

    @Eleonor
    - I don't think the antennas are screwed but fixed like the previous model. For the picture they looked being removed.
    - Zidoo never tells us where they get their metadata from. It may change over time too.
    - Yeah subtitle lookup was changed to worse with the last FW update as you show. I hope we get the old presentation back with original file names.
    - All players can work with IR and BT using current and old remotes.

    " Now the z9x 8k can play smoothly. In terms of compatibility, some movies will prompt that the menu navigation cannot be played, but there is no problem playing directly." OK so not a slam dunk yet. Hopefully further improvement with newer firmware?
