The Fifth Element Won't Play In Dolby Vision!

Hi, I am having an issue Which no one else that has tried the exact same file is having, and the only difference is that I'm using a Zidoo. So the issue is obviously with my zidoo z9x. I am trying to play the fifth Element, and the only difference with this file compared to about 20 other Dolby Vision Files I've tried that have worked is that The Fifth Element is 24fps or hz. I am getting only HDR When everybody else that is using other brands is getting Dolby Vision. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit I have automatic refresh rate set to off, cause I can't stand the screen refresh constantly.

Can you provide the output from MediaInfo?

If you don't match the frame rate you'll get microstutters (frame drops/repeats)

Whether it's 23.976, 24, 59.940 or 60 fps makes no difference, so that's not the issue.

    Hello,

The 24p MKV DV video file does not work for me, the zidoo player freezes when the DV logo appears on the top left of the screen and the screen stays black

Maybe other people can check on their side to confirm

    @Mark, I will send you a PM

    See you

How do I get the output? From the Zidoo info button? Or from My Computer? I don't have my hard drive hooked up at the moment to check on my Z9X.

Use this program called media info
    https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download/Windows

Install it on your pc, than right click on the video file and select mediainfo

Copy and paste the informations here on the forum

I think the problem here is the home brew Profile 8 conversion, presumably using Yuseope's tools.

24p plays fine here - I have several 24p HDR10 files. Only one 24p Dolby Vision - Flash Gordon but all play perfectly and confirmed as 24p by the Vertex.

I think these are file issues.

Like I said, it worked for a lot of other people using Nvidia shield, and on the forum, another Zidoo owner had the same issue. So I'm pretty sure it's not a file problem. I've downloaded it twice now, still only getting her. I brought it up on the other forum, and like 10 people responded with it being a zidoo issue.

There is something very wrong with that file.

It won't open in MakeMKV - first time I've seen that.

It won't remux with MKVToolnix - again, first time I've seen that.

It plays on the Dune, but at the wrong frame rate.

It's a bad encode, so not worth any more investigation.

Ok thanks a lot for letting me know. I figured that was the case, but the people on the forum where I got the file seem to think I'm an idiot for telling them there was something wrong with their file. cause that's what I told them before I came here looking for answers. Glad I was right in the beginning. Sorry to take up your time Mark.

No worries - I see so many posts on different forums (and for different devices to be fair) where people are screaming about their device being crap for not supporting this file or that file (been guilty of it myself on occasion) and the majority of the time the file is the issue but you wouldn't believe how many people still don't get it!

I generally don't bother getting involved in this sort of thing but given the current development going on I thought this was worth a look.

Funny! with today's update I lost the ability to play my Mandalorian MP4's which I suspect is for the same reason. I don't know why Zidoo makes guidelines for only specific ways to make your files compatible. Instead of making the files compatible with the files in a broader spectrum like everybody else.
