Hi Mark, I have installed the latest firmware version "G". Now I wanted to upgrade to the latest firmware version not "G" but I can't install it because it says the latest firmware version is already installed. How can I do that?

You can't go from G to non-G on the same version. I believe, but have never tried, that you can update to a later non-G firmware, but obviously that's unlikely any time soon.

The only other option is to use the emergency flash method then update to the version you want to use.

This is not without risk and instructions must be followed to the letter.

I've noticed since the last update when I open some entry's mediainfo ("More" button next to the actors) the columns extend too far to the right and the furthest column is cut off by the window border but there's no way to scroll horizontal only vertical.

So for example with a file containing a bunch of subs I can see 3 entries, the forth column is cut in half and below that the same, 3 readable entries and one cut off.

If i try out a single movie with only 5 tracks it's the same: General, Video and Audio perfectly readable, next Audio entry is cut off and in the second row perfectly readable subtitle entry.

Anyone else encountering this? My device is Z9X

I know this doesn't help but out of interest I just tested the new boxes and they seem handle this correctly - played a 1464x1080 file, so a bit wider than 4:3 but not quite Academy and it played correctly in 1080p.

This file shows a DAR of 4:3 in metadata which isn't quite right, but the presentation AR was correct.

I think a lot people are just not installing it to say otherwise. They must be either happy with it or not wanting to risk borking it since theres no updates after this one.

Interesting...I've had no issues, and I don't recall seeing any issues with the update.

Out of interest where does Zidoo save the "demos' folder ? and the contents?

Has anyone experienced that Media Center does not display how much progress has been watched on a file? It does actually seem to keep track of it, but if you go to another app or after a reboot there is nothing displayed for watch duration?

I tried upgrading from a previous G to this new non-G and it kept showing a Google Store error across the screen (and the process refused to end, even when clicked on).
I was able to then successfully upgrade to the new G version and it has since been stable, and fine in use.
All my previous settings and library (including ZDMC) are working well :D

Possible a factory reset would have fixed that?

[Serious problem with v6.4.68] [Zidoo Z1000 pro]
Hi Guys - upgraded to v6.4.68 and I get the strange status on the pic. After pressing the power on the remote the unit started booting. 15 minutes later - the same - clock shown, not working and the red power button and so on after some minutes.
    So - flashed to v6.4.42 - 24 hours - no problem; upgraded to v6.4.65 - 24h - no problem; upgraded to v6.4.68 - problem;
    Any ideas ?
P.S. - Is it possible that there are different HW versions as nobody is reporting this problem? 20240803_210634.jpg

Long shot I know, but have you tried unplugging for 5 mins? No problems here on the latest f/w with my Z1000pro.

Have not tried unplugging - just switched it off from the switch on the rear after each upgrade cycle. Will try it tonight and report :)

The back switch kills mains exactly the same as unplugging the power lead.

I just reverted to the previous version v6.4.65. The problem I encountered in version v6.4.68 was in the usb audio output. From the usb audio output with external dac Tidal connect does not go beyond 44.1khz 16bit and they also abolished the MQA stream. Reverting to version v6.4.65, everything started working correctly again. As far as I'm concerned the latest firmware is to be thrown in the toilet
