New I want to flash my Neo S, to revert to an older FW version. I follow the instruction on the Zidoo page - press the reset button and than the power button. Than I release the power button and kepp on pressing the reset button for a few seconds. A black screen with the zidoo logo appears and nothing happens for half an hour or more. Do you have any advice how to do the flashing correctly? Thanks!

Just follow the instructions TO THE LETTER and it'll work.

USB Image for Neo S only:

    Emergency Flash Procedure
    =========================

    1. Copy file to empty FAT32 USB stick

    2. Rename file to "install.img"

    3. Turn off player using switch on back

    4. Plug USB stick into USB 3.0 Port (a blue one)

    5. Press and hold reset button with something pointy while applying power

    6. Wait for on screen confirmation then release reset button.

**Do not turn off during this procedure**

Thank you @Markswift2003 I've followed your detailed instruction and it still does not work. The zidoo sign is on for half an hour and nothing happens. Just a question: in point 5, by "applying power", you mean turning the player on by switching on the switch on the back, right? Not the standby switch on the front.

Yes, switch off at the back then power on while holding the reset button in.

    Is the USB stick FAT23?

Is the USB image file renamed correctly?

Yes, it is FAT32. The name of the file should be "install.img" with the extension img or the name is "install" and the extension is img (after the dot)?

    Yes, filename is install.img

img is the file extension, install is the name of the file.

Thank you again @Markswift2003. Finally I managed the flash the system. Just one last question. I installed the latest stable version of the FW. I had the 6.7.88 beta version which made Posterwall crash every few seconds - it was totally unusable. Which beta version might be the best one? At least a version which will not make Powsterwall crash. Which one do you recommend?

    I assume you mean 6.4.68.

I have had that version running on a Z9X since it was released last year and HT runs perfectly. Maybe the database is corrupt?

Sorry for those lot of questions. What do you mean by "database". I think the latest beta version is the 6.7.88 and latest stable version is 6.7.42.

What reset button. The neo s does not have this , you can’t use a pointy thing because there is no place for this ? Thank you. Mine is stuck on music only, I can’t do video at the moment, so need to revert to older firmware as the latest ( 88 ) is unstable.

Maybe a 10kg hammer will solve the problem?
