After installing v2.2.57-rooted on Z9S, most of my apps are crashed. Google Play could not open again. I reset the box but can not re install any apps previously installed. The system says they are installed but not show in the app list.
This version of rooted firmware is really risky. Can anyone help me save my box?
    Thanks a lot

Thanks for taking time to check.

Are all your video settings on auto?

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Setting 12 bit 422 made no difference but setting 8 bit 444 WORKS :) no more sparklies!!

Is leaving at 8 bit going to affect pq, or cause any other issues?

Still got the odd the sparkle on 8 bit 444 but no where near as bad. Changed to 422 as you suggested and not a sparkle in sight :)

Glad it’s firmware and not a faulty unit.

Not sure we can conclude it is the firmware as 422 is less stressful on the HDMI interface/cable than 444 (less data throughput required with 422). But if it solves your problem, that's what really matters :)

12-bit 422 uses exactly the same bandwidth as 8-bit 444 (8.9Gbps) - it's an odd mode in that it allows 12-bit video at HDMI 1.4 speeds.

In my experience , 10bit gives better contrast brighter colour than 8bit,so I give priority to 10bit always

You are correct, it is 444 with 10 and/or 12 bits which has higher data throughput than 12bit 422.

    1. HDD via USB 3.0 - randomly unmounted when watching movies.
    2. Display don't work correctly in standby mode. Always says "bye".

Rollback to 2.1.30. Fix this please!!!

I only know the USB problem that ports are not sticky. When inserting/unplugging something on one USB port another USB port may get inactive as a side-effect.

No. Different problem. Same on 2.1.40.
I use 2 HDD via USB 3.0 - WD 8TB My Book Desktop, Seagate Expansion 8TB Desktop.
Unmounted only 1 drive - from which i watch movie. After this - only restart.

Are you sure it is not a cable connector problem. USB3 specifically is notorious for wacky contacts.

    Sure, 100%
    2.1.30 - no problem
I'm not only one with this problem. I saw some posts in 2.1.40 topic with same problem.

8 bit 422 has been working OK without sparkies whilst watching 1080p content the weekend. I don't know now if it is a firmware or hardware issue as by lowering those settings it has taken the stress of the HDMI port.

Surely though if it was the stress on the HDMI port then i would see it all the time and not just on dark scenes or a black image, I have downloaded 30 second sample files which have a 400MB bit rate and no sparlklies.

My Kit chain is Zidoo Z9s>Marantz NR1608>OLED55C6

I'm leaning towards firmware, I really need another unit to test, what's your best guess?
