Time to a new update for x9s, I hope this month will come

Mine is local content. Every other device plays perfectly including the PC. No issues pulling it down at 100MB/s to the PC.

Only the X9S has buffering issues. Very weird.

How often do you see this pause / buffering issue? Any type of files or just specific encoding / size?

It varies. Anywhere from a stutter every 3-4 minutes to every 10-15.

So far mostly noticeable with UHD rips (so higher bitrate stuff). Jumanji is 43Mb/s and The Hunt for Red October is 40Mb/s. Both are ripped discs with makemkv.

I just tested recent Purge movie Web-Dl 3.5GB. First stutter at about 5min 30s.
I'm sure this file would play perfect on my RPi and PC.

@godalmighty you are not going to find stutter issue on larger files, HEVC, 10 bit and 4K. On occasion you may notice single skipped frame at the beginning of the new scene. Based on your TV type and motion processing it could be difficult to spot.

The really obvious stutter issue is present in smaller files 3 to 5GB, 720 and 1080p Web-Dl mp4, 8 bit. Almost all of those files will have stutter with firmware.34 repeating every 4 to 5 minutes. The example is here:

I think only Advanced Video Codec with High@L4 encoding is stuttering.
    High@L4.1 and above is ok.
My guess its a realtek 1295 hardware problem.

I don’t remember running into this issue on firmware.25
I think it’s software related introduced with .34. Somebody from Zidoo comented that they tried to fix 23.976fps that everybody was complaining about. I think that did it.

I don't know if it is profile related but had similar problems and the culprit was.... the encoding program!
To be more specific, I tried to encode a series 10 1080p/HEVC/10bit (I didn't change the frame rate) with an iffmpeg based program. The result was unwatchable!!
It was like seeing a movie from a cctv capture on 15Fps or lower, frames jumping around, it was totally crap! I the used the Handbrake (same parameters) and finally had a watchable movie.
So I'm saying that all this stuttering specific issue, may be encoder related.
    Just my thought :)

Probably not. Most of the movies 720 and 1080 marked Web-Dl will stutter with Zidoo and firmware.34. They play just fine on PC Kodi and RaspberryPi.

I had stutter every 12 minutes with all web-dl movies since fw1.4.16.
I have mention it many times with other fw`s.

I am waiting for godalmighty`s results with the 1296 chip.
If thats working ok its obvious why they made it.

The first issue is most likely the strong stutter on Web-Dl files that we are talking about. There is series of frames missing and video is stuttering for about a second. Sample slow motion video is here:
    http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thr...or-zidoo-x9s-release.10134/page-17#post-44803
This makes the movie unwatchable. In my case it will repeat itself every 4.5 min. There are no other options on Zidoo to watch those movies. Kodi player is useless. It skips frames all the time. You need different box player or at least PC to finish watching.

Second issue described as 23.976 -> 23.98 is mainly random single frame drops typically around 4 to 6 times per movie at the beginning of the new scene. It is rare enough not to spoil the movie and easy to ignore.

True 3D frame packing does not exhibit any frame related issues.
