Try reading the thread about it on this forum. Its one of the longest ones on this entire forum. Its an issue, you just haven't gotten to it yet. I already told you, I'll give Eversolo 6 months. Not sure what your hurry is.
Actually, it has only 24 responses. Many topics have more than a hundred responses. Still, I get that you use Amazon for music. Hope you get satisfied. But exagerations won't get you want you want. And damage your credibility. I'm in no hurry at all, but you seem very irritated about the situation with message after message about Amazon Music. My recommendation is get something else you like better and relieve the stress. By most measurements I've read online Amazon has weaker audio quality than some of its competitors like Tidal. Maybe it's worth a look?
You must be looking at a different thread. The one devoted to the topic of CD ripping is 13 pages long, with each page having 20 posts. That's over 240 posts. I have also talked in various threads about how before I even got the A6, I signed up for (3) 30 day free trials: Tidal, then Qobuz, then Amazon. Those were the 3 Eversolo advertised as working on the A6 as native apps. I wanted to see how they all worked first. The apps on my phone basically. Then when I got the A6 I tried them on it also. For now, which, since I'm on a monthly plan and have yet to start making any play lists, I decided to go with Amazon (if you want all my reasons I can post that but I don't think anyone cares), because I can switch to either of the other 2 very quickly. Its not like I prepaid for a full year. So I have some experience with all 3. I am simply trying to make Eversolo aware that me (and many others who have posted the same and more complaints) are having issues that hopefully can be corrected. There is no stress here on my end. I think its you who might be a little uptight. Nobody else seems to be disputing what I have to say. Please keep in mind I'm actually more disappointed with the entire state of streaming from all these provider companies. Streaming has been running strong now for many years and it simply amazes me how nobody out there (except for maybe Roon which I have not tried yet) has a system that ergonomically works really well. Qobuz was the best of the 3 I tried, but they lack music I want compared to others, and their menu system, while the best IMO, can certainly be improved upon. Like starting with making sure albums are tagged with the proper release dates (check out the band Rush, where many albums have the dates completely wrong). Simple stuff that makes a world of difference and should be easily fixable with software or firmware or database editing.
I was looking at the Amazon Music thread which you have done most of your complaining about. As I said, I tried two CD drives. Both worked without incident. I guess it doesn't work for everyone. I'm not uptight at all. I haven't left dozens of posts complaining about the product, which you have every right to do, but your endlessly repeating yourself does get a bit old. Give the Erversolo people some time to clean up your issues. I can tell you Rose took many months and they are not done. Still, a nice product, very flexible. But not perfect. You keep testing.
Tried that but Plexamp (4.8.2) won't open on the A6? Edit: Downloaded a different apk and got it working. Thanks for the suggestion.
How did you do it? I have a paid Plexamp for lifetime, use it to play my library from my server in my car using my cell phone.
There's instructions on how to side load an apk in the following thread (I posted it some time ago - think it's on like the 4th page) http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/sideloading-streaming-music-apps-aggregated-list.96057/
I installed the apk downloaded from APKMirror. It opened on the A6 but it doesn't work very well. I completely gave up on it when I noticed that everything was being resampled to 192khz. It's not bit perfect.
Check out Symfonium if you want bit perfect playback from your Plex server. No DJs or sonic sage etc but many other features.
Very nice app however stops playing after 1 track. I've rebooted both phone and A6 and cleared cache. Will only play 1 track and then stops. If I use the WiiM Pro as renderer it works fine. Any idea what may be causing the problem with the A6? Are you using it without issues?
I don't have this issue. Check the advanced settings in Symfonium. There are a couple of UPnP settings you can adjust, I've them both turned on. Not sure if these were set by default. You could also sideload the app and control from the app directly on the A6 or by the cast function. The interface looks good on the A6.
You can't hear the difference above 96 anyway. I did these tests years ago, comparing to 96 and 192 files, the human ear can't tell the difference. Yes you can hear the difference between 16 and 24 bit files if they are good quality. I have heard worse 24 bit files remastered than the original 16 bit.
The beauty of Plexamp is not using the endpoint but a phone or tablet to cast on the endpoint Similar to Roon but with more advanced UI
Tried settings on and off, no difference. Using Emby server instead of Plex server solved the problem however, now when playing a playlist of mixed tracks with varying sample rates, the beginning of the track is cut off any time there is a sample rate change.
In tried to follow how to do it, but I'm not computer savvy. I am used to building and restoring tube gear and other vintage amps to repair. I got my DMP A-6 running and it sounds amazing. I have had streamers for over 10 years. I started with the Pioneer N-50..think that was the model #.
Hello, you are one off the lucky few with ripping result. What kind of drive you are using ? And which firmware version ?
Hello, it depends on the whole setup, sound signature of the amplifier (soft, neutral or dry) and the speakers connected whether they are dynamic, neutral or introverted, the same streamer soft or more dynamic, varies according to the compositions.
It's an old Pioneer BD-XD05S. No problems with it at all. Had it on a shelf for years, but wanted to try ripping. I have no idea what firmware is on that old drive.. my A6 is on the current general release firmware.
