Yes I can! I'm not trying to see if its true DV but to compare PQ. This of course will be subjective but I'm fine with that.

Ok, before anyone has a seizure, here's a quick summary of what profiles are supported in what containers now:

STSL = Single Track, Single Layer
STDL = Single Track, Dual Layer

    Hello,

I just checked the new FW 6.2.0 with the movie ''1917'' (ISO DV) as well as other ISO DV like The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and so far everything works.

I will wait for more feedback but I want to say Thank you to the Zidoo team, it's a great progress

And for the BDmenu mode, it is not catastrophic, we will wait that Zidoo solves this small problem

    See you soon

    EVERYTHING WORKS !
I did several tests with DV Fel films and everything is fine!
I only have MKV movies but it reads them all:
    Top Gun
    Fast & Furious
    Star Wars
Amazing Earth etc. etc. all perfectly reproduced in D.V. THANKS TO ALL .... keep it up.
Just one question: is it normal for me to tell me in the INFO that the signal is an 8-bit RGB?
Does it happen only with MKV or also with other containers?
    Thanks
    joe

Sorry for the late reply to this, but I didn't want to reply until I'd looked into this because it's a bit of an oddity.

So in the normal course of events in post for a Dolby Vision job the HDR10 grade is simply exported after all the fiddling about is done and of course this constitutes the base layer for the Dolby grade.

Other than one being 12-bit and one being 10-bit, there should be no huge difference between the two grades as far as colour or luminance goes - this is why I say it's no great loss in not processing the FEL - obviously better if it's there, but really, real world, no great loss.

Power Rangers is an odd one - the grading of the movie looks correct over both 12-bit and 10-bit but as you say, the titles are just brighter using the video essence of the FEL.

Well, if you look at the video in the FEL you can see why!!

Some very odd decisions were made in this one, but suffice to say that it doesn't affect the movie as a whole - the FEL data for that is as you'd expect - it's just the titles that are a bit mad and when you look at them you can see why that brightness is there.

I think this was a mistake made during post but I've no idea how or why it passed..

Yes, that is completely correct and normal. With DV TV led, the signal is transmitted as an 8 bit RGB signal.

if you switch to player Led DV, you will see YUV422 12 Bits DV. I prefer TV Led 8 bit RGB.

Hi Mark, another you should check out if you get time and I know a few guys on Makemkv forum use it as a FEL test is Total Recall, the Base layer only - in places is grainy and low bitrate with the ‘POP’ defiantly encoded in the enhancement layer.
