It's good that there are some of you who still have hope
I don't think MARK can improve the situation much
I reported several simple bugs and didn't even get a response
No corrections have been made to the menus and subtitles that are not English
I mostly use a local disk
I have quality home theater equipment
And I enjoy excellent picture and SOUND quality

When I read some comments, it makes me smile .......
I am not a demanding person but I like to make constructive remarks (or not) however, I want to remind that the "programmers" of zidoo are not people who work for free, we paid at least 200€ to have a product and that is why it is normal to ask a product to do what it says.
For example, what bothers me is that if we have a problem to scratch a video,, it is impossible to redo it correctly without having to change the name or something.
On the contrary, I don't use Trakt or Jellyfin (and didn't even know it) and I don't care about it (and it wasn't specified on the sale ad), yet I never criticized those who were happy to have it and asked for improvements.
Personally, what I expect from a media player is that it is compatible with all media of course with good audio and video quality (which is the case) and that it manages the local video library very well

You make a fair point but this is a members' forum not run by the manufacturer. I suggest greavances should be directed to Zidoo. Videos are Scraped btw not Scratched - they don't itch

I'm a simple man, I just use normal MKV files like DV remux or Blu-ray rips, together with the Jellyfin Zidoo client, works like a charm, and IPTV app, no problem.

yes I know that, that's why I talk about making remarks and not making demands...
Make remarks to discuss about and maybe a zidoo manager will read it...

Not sure it works like that. Emailing Zidoo is the way forward me thinks

No. I mean, when I boot my Zidoo, I'd prefer to be directly on my poster wall. Right now, when Zidoo boots, I always have to launch HT4.0 with my remote from ZIUI. Unless I missed an option somewhere, which is always possible ^^

You are right, I found the option ! It's on the main settings, I thought it was for audio play (as it goes with the shuffle play option). Too early to see if that's more reliable, but in my case it raises a new interrogation, why does the intro/outro skipping function enable autoplay while it's not related, and wouldn't it be better to have an autoplay switch located in the TV shows UI ?
Anyway, I edited my former message, thanks ^^

Ovidiu is right, follow his instructions : open the apps tile on the home screen (or the apps menu for Z1000 Pro and above), highlight the HT4.0 app, press "Menu" button on your remote and select "start at launch". You will get what you want next time that you will start your Zidoo.

But the glitch that I was talking about earlier in this thread (with resolution locked to 1080p vs the TV show in 4k), that works, including for the movies in 2 parts (as Lord of the rings for example). You can also change the function for the page keys in "function keys" to "switch video", to go to the next or the previous episode with your remote. Thivame uses this for his Tv shows.

So, it turns out the problem had to do with a USB cable. I've always had an A-->B USB cable from the USB output to the input because of the DAC setting toggle (I hate toggled controls esp. when there are three options) - it would give me an extra go at analogue output. With the cable in, all digital output was muted. Take it out, sound is back.

Whether there's something wrong with the cable (likely, I haven't checked) or with the beta software I can't say, but the problem is solved for me.

    I completely agree with you.
For some time now I have been asking myself whether I am in good hands with Zidoo. My UHD3000 is stable, but I only use the basic functions, i.e. I play ISOs and nothing else. But in many cases I can't use BD menus and rewinding in the film often doesn't work either. And for me, these are elementary functions that are advertised by Zidoo and still don't work.
No information comes from Zidoo, no announcements, no explanations, nothing!
As a customer who has paid almost 1,000 euros for the media player, I don't feel taken seriously or respected.
And 4 months to make a new beta available (and that too without any communication) is already a long time. Regardless of whether Covid or not.
When I look at the competition, I see one beta after another. And there is also the improvement in the processing of BD menus.
Nothing has come from Zidoo so far.

Oh I get it ! Because it was phrased as a question and used inaccurate labels I didn't see it as a walkthrough ! :p My bad.
So, pressing menu on the big HT4 icon only manages the icon, I must enter the APPLICATIONS icon, inside there's Home Theatre 4.0 and that's where, by pressing menu, I can have it to start automatically. Great, thank you both ! :)
It's not working with standby mode unfortunately (when waking up the Zidoo, it's back to the app launcher).

Sounds good, but I still use chapters sometimes ^^

It's strange, you must have a problem because since the beginning I'm in this configuration and when I get out of standby, it puts itself on the HT4 wall (after passing through the main page for one or two seconds).

By default the directional arrows "up" and "down" allow to change the chapters
" page up" or "page down" to change episode and "up" or "down" arrow to change chapter

I use the arrows to change the subtitles height ^^

And yes there's probably a problem, it works randomly (but it's too new for me to know what causes this, the more I try, the fewer it fails). For now, the biggest issue with enabling HT4 by default is that from a fresh boot, the TV remote isn't recognised through CEC and I have to "provoke" the handshake through my TV's CEC manager tool, and doing so sends me back to the app launcher screen, which totally defies the purpose of the function.

you must have a problem because I don't have a problem with the CEC either...
Maybe a factory repair could help you to find everything correctly... (after saving of course)
    (i've a z9x)

When it comes to CEC, you'll find many users having trouble with Zidoo's CEC implementation (especially those with AV receivers). I suppose CEC requires fine tuning for each brand, and since my TV brand (Panasonic, their CEC is called VIERA Link) isn't as popular as Sony, Samsung, LG or TCL, that probably doesn't help. If someone reports having a seamless experience with a VIERA Link TV set then I'll investigate further, but for the moment, it's always been working like that with the Zidoo and it was also how Zappiti handled it back then.
