Common issue for lifted blacks is HDMI range in auto. Set Zidoo and the TV for limited only, no auto. My Epson projector was switching to full range on 10bit signal. Next check settings on your TV. Quite often TV will keep set of parameters based on HDMI port number or signal type like resolution, refresh rate or bit depth. Make sure it is the same when HDR and HLG.

I have used this version for a while (_G build) on Z9X and there is a very annoying issue with 3D iso files. When I play them they work flawlessly for a few minutes and then start to jitter and pause/play/pause/play etc...
The Zidoo is connected by a CAT6 to a 1G switch which is also connected to a NAS with CAT6/1G connection. In the network setting the Zidoo lists 1G connection, as does the NAS. I am using the HT application for playback.
HDR10 & DV (VS10 for both) with Atmos work OK so its not the HDMI cables.

    Any ideas? its so annoying.

    Edit: wifi is off

first move the hdmi going from zidoo to s/bar try it direct to tv and see if DV works then ie prove that hdmi cable is 4k/60 plus compliant since older hdmi cables will not have bandwidth for DV etc

if that part works then its settings in soundbar maybe or the other hdmi cable maybe

    ie process of elimination

4 months since last update of any kind from Zidoo, with how generally buggy the software is, without constant maintenance I am beginning to worry they are abandoning support for this hardware generation…

    that
or they had their chinese new year shut down followed by a huge Covid outbreak with reports of 60 -70 perc infected which really puts a hold on many things

the new chipsets havent gone into model productions as far as anyone can tell ie spec sheets for the new 8k/60 2 hdmi out etc chips are still only recent news so well prolly be lucky to see next model players for another year maybe

better to take as long as needed to NOT release a buggy f/w ,since for most ppl ,current one is just fine (unless your using HT with minor issues or even less with issues in blueray menus)

no issues whatsoever using Jellyfin Zidoo app and IPTV app with current firmware, but I would not mind any performance improvements if possible, but I guess much can't be done about it due to the slow A55 cores.

Chinese New Year was on 22th January, what about the three month before? I think they concentrate on Eversolo.

We don’t know if the current COVID variant has hit hard. Many businesses in Australia just can’t get enough staff.

Reposting this question here to see if anyone has an idea for a workaround:

Hi, with HDR set to Auto or to VS10 (DV Only), all HDR10 movies are being output in YUV444 12 bit even though the Color Setting for 4K 23-30Hz is set to PriorityYUV422 12Bit. The movie details report the movie as YUV 420 10 bit.

This is an issue for me as I use the Zidoo Z9X with a Blackmagic Quad HDMI card and MadVR. The Blackmagic card cannot accept YUV444 12 bit so MadVR is not able to process these HDR10 movies.

For now, I am running in VS10 (HDR, DV) mode but would prefer to output HDR10 with no processing applied. Is this a bug that is not respecting the Color Settings?

I will try to create a custom EDID that disables 444 support but ideally, we would want Zidoo to respect the color settings.

+1 Ya, all this constant whining about when another firmware update will be released and suggesting that Zidoo is not supporting these models is ridiculous. I went onto McBluna.net site and literally counted all the firmware releases that have been released since August of 2020 for the Z9x ... I believe I counted 52 separate releases! That to me doesn't sound like a product team that releases a product and then doesn't support it.

Hmm - not sure why it does this - I'm sure it didn't used to...

Can you use 10-bit 4:4:4 - that's closest to the native 10-bit 4:2:0 of the source (which of course is not supported by HDMI)?

The only way I can think of restricting to 12-bit 4:2:2 in EDID is to restrict the bandwidth to 300MHz (HDMI 1.4) which precludes the use of 4K60 at 10 or 12 bits.

bd menu playback was problematic from beginning and now even worse. Oct 18 last update.

Thanks! Changing the 4K 23-30Hz color setting to 444 10 bit works.

There is still a bug though when playing HDR10 mkv files. If I set to 422 12 bit, the playback info states 444 12 bit. If I set 422 10 bit, the playback info states 444 10 bit. It should be outputting at the selected 422 color setting and not 444.

Why would a company abandoned there NO 1 Selling ZX Range etc and no longer support it with firmware updates ?
Its like saying Apple no longer supporting there latest iPhone,’s loosing $$$$$$$

Firmware comes when it comes and not really a lot anyone can do about it .
Well apart from selling there Zidoo
    Or moaning ;)

id rather wait for a big update with lots of issues fixed plus ……
    Just gotta wait ……..
