Upgraded to .90. I'm no power user, but so far I played a 3 hour movie (Atmos and DV) with no issues whatsoever.

oh ok I never had that and watched many full movies. The only thing that happens sometimes for me is that the movie start stuttering and i need to go back one click in the movie and it plays ok again. Are you using local hdd or smb streaming?

VC-1 works perfectly for me IF you start the playback from the start of the movie. If you resume it will play very bad slow motion and choppy.

I've been experiencing some funky business on the web-based control center after the 1.0.90_G firmware. The search function is broken most of the time and content fails to load on many and sometimes in all categories and menus.

Another fun interaction i'm finding is, if you hafe open Home Theater 5 App on the zidoo and open the home cinema web-app, HT5 closes and goes back to the zidoo OS dashboard.

Upgraded yesterday to this .90 firmware and noticed the same issue. But one thing must be mentioned and that is ,this new HT5.0 is really fast at showing the thumbnails, no lags whatsoever no loading time at all. I'm truly happy with the stability as well.

Can you elaborate, what's VC-1 playback? Is it a movie/video file?

And i hadn't noticed before 1.0.88, but whenever i go to the sources section of the HT app, and chose one of the sources, it doesn't show anything inside. I remember i could browse the folders within each and manually match, and now it isn't possible anymore.
is there a setting i'm missing or something? i have not changed anything on the PC side (i share my HDDs over SMB) other than adding more HDDs periodically.

And this is why I am waiting at least one year before upgrading to the new models.

Yes I am aware they appearantly worked for 2 years smoothing things out for the new models.....however we will see how the function after release in the real world.

Hmm... Possibly... but I've had one here for months (several, actually).

    I'm not frustrated.

This is not universal for me. I have 1.0.86 and I have a lot of VC-1 blu ray remux’ in MKV containers. Many of them play fine, even with pause/resume. Once in a while I do notice the problem but it is more the exception than the rule and is seemingly random

VC-1 is a dated video encoding codec that was primarily used in older blu ray titles before H.264 took over.

So if you have rips of older blu rays and you didn’t re-encode / compress them, you will find VC-1
