    In fact, they could have put 1.1.70 back changing the name to 1.1.85, at least in the meantime we would have solved it like this, but I don't know if this is feasible. One thing is for sure, I will never update the firmware without knowing it if I am not 100% sure that it is perfect and working and does not cause problems.

    I both completely agree and completely disagree.

    If Profile 8 is implemented correctly then there is zero issue.

    I regularly encode my own Profile 7 rips with Staxrip and Cuda and then repackage as Profile 8.

    But I do it correctly and they work 100% of the time.

    As I understand it this is because of the lack of security surrounding the AML SOC vs the Realtek SOC so differential firmware is needed to protect both Zidoo's IPR and licencing, both of which have been compromised in the past by third parties.

    I'm beginning to understand the complaints about the latest firmware. The video stutters frequently, which is a noticeable issue. Zidoo will likely release an update to address these bugs and improve user satisfaction. Additionally, it seems that the Zidoo does not recognize the SRT subtitles positioning codes from {\an1} to {\an9}, except for {\an8}. I just suggest reviewing and improving this functionality if possible :)

    Interestingly I've not had a single instance of the image pausing on 1.1.80 and I've been playing videos, including DV regularly since the update. I've had the odd stuttering issue which isn't new but nothing a little rewind won't fix.

    I just report this, maybe not right. Hope it helps.

    Switching UI interface to 1080p , it has more less frozen than at 4K. The frozen issue began at V1.1.70. I think it maybe due to Unreasonable CPU allocation of S928X.

    The fact is that the firmware development of S928X boxes is worse than RTD1619DR boxes. Slow speed and more bugs. The firmware of RTD1619DR boxes usually updated every 1-2 weeks. But S928X now update 1-2 months. Is it because less developer than before or the less support from SDK of Amlogic? That is real problem.

    I suggest create a Bug/Request and Fix agenda list at forum. Such as:

    Bug/Request description Status Fix Agenda

    Status is Confirmed/ Replicated or something , Fix Agenda is like "will fix in the next verion / fixed in 1.1.80 / fixed in furture no schedule / Bug of SDK, waiting SDK updating from AML ". That is very clear for the user to know there bug fix request is ongoing.

    For exsample, the Bug: When the USB hard disk connected to 8K player USB port, and then back to connect to USB port of Windows PC, Window report disk error. Enduser thinks this is a very easy bug to confirmed and fixed , but not fixing for a very long time, Why? Bug/Request and Fix agenda list will give answer. Maybe it because the Android system, can not be fixed easily, waiting for Amlogic fix it?

    I hope Zidoo remains true to its original aspiration, make more better product for the users.

    I have had several iterations of Zidoo. I don't recall getting "The firmware of RTD1619DR boxes usually updated every 1-2 weeks."

    But how do I upgrade to the latest version? I tried via the Zidoo, but it didn't work. It didn't find 1.80 (Z3000pro)

    The problem is..not every one has freezes and stutters.

    I had none on all my movies.
    I just got now 1 on a tv show after one user mentioned a 4k HDR episode of Skeleton Crew.
    (But not the stuttering /correction...this file had a stutter)

    Just watched 5th movie Congo 4k remux DV DTS-MA 5.1 ,and again zero stutters or the Pause/Continue bug

    If your having the DV stutter or the Pause/Continue issues with movies ,check your settings verse mine ,id be interested to see if i have anything set different ,since im not seeing the issues
    Only other thing ive done is delete the 3 x 1080p SS images and added some 2160p HDR images ,since im using 4k UI

    Playback / Auto frame / local playback /match framerate only

    Display / Resolution /3840x2160p @23.997hz (because most movies are 23.997 )
    Display / Resolution /8k /YUV420
    Display / Resolution /4k 50-60 /YUV420
    Display / Resolution /4k 23-30 /YUV444

    This sounds like an attempt to blame the users themselves for the instability of the box. On a stable box, NO settings should lead to freezes and stutters.
    Different settings should only change the quality of the image that is output to the TV, and not lead to stuttering and freezing

    Slowly but surely, the whining here is getting on my nerves.

    Of course it's disappointing when one or two BETA releases have been messed up. We've all realized that by now, haven't we?

    I get that the devs are working their asses off to clean things up. And that's my expectation too.

    However, it's no use crying here in every new post about how shitty everything is. Nobody is forcing you to keep your Zidoo.

    So: despite all the justified criticism: from my point of view, enough is enough! Please be patient and wait for the new FW release.

    Whining, complaining, aggressive postings change.....NOTHING.

    Btw: markswift is not an employee of Zidoo as far as I know, but has direct contact with the developers. He didn't screw up the whole thing. Please bear this in mind when you speak to him.

    Actually ,since i have zero of the stutter issues and none of the pause/continue issues (except very rarely on tv epis , its me looking for an answer

    It might be i have one setting different ,which could then help the devs with their fix

    I always do a full system reset after installing new firmware and have turned off screensaver in settings and I have not seen any freezing or stuttering at all on my 8000 with 1.1.80

    The only issue I have is the well known lip sync with any DTS audio since having the player.

    Sofar I have had no Freezing or Stuttering with 1080, the only problem I have, is whilst you are watching a move or series
    and you rewind or skip slightly the sound stops, but often after a short pause or small advancement the sound continues.

    On 1.0.7.0. I did have a few tv series where the image Freezed and sound continued.

    Reading this topic it seems that certain users have minor issues, whereas others have major issues, I assume that overall settings
    the quality of the viewing material highly contributes to the overall correct working of the mediaplayer.

    Eventhough I do understand the frustrations, do not forget that without Markswift there would not be a lively forum enabling users to vent their issues / problems etc.

    Thanks Mark for your patience and continious support / help to this forum , which on many occasion must be very challenging indeed.
