Zidoo 8K Media Players FAQ

On my Z9X Pro 8k I have installed Plex Media Server and all my Films & Series & Music from my NAS, placed everything in Plex, its all on view, so I`m pretty interested on how its all going too look and sound. Are there any special settings in Plex or my Zidoo that I should change? Or is it trial and error? Wish me luck

Have you tried Roon on the new Beta. It still does not work for multichannel dsf files. You might want to let the developers know.

 

I've ordered the new Z30 Pro to replace the Z10 Pro.

The Z10 Pro allows to present an LLDV output with colour primaries in a non-LLDV display.

Does the Z30 Pro allows EDIDs to be uploaded to override the EDID presented the displays (eg. A JVC projector)?

New to the forum, I bring you the problem I encounter with my Zidoo UHD8000.

I received my Zidoo UHD8000 at the end of July with the installed version v1.1.35. I tested the device and everything worked perfectly, including Plex.

Then I had 3 successive updates to versions v1.1.38, v1.1.42, v1.1.42_G

From v1.1.38 to v1.1.42_G, Plex would no longer connect to my servers. I have two Plex servers, one on my PC and another one on an Nvidia Shield Pro. I also have a Plex Pass.

After linking Zidoo Plex to my Plex account, the window opened on Zidoo Plex inviting me to enter my code then I immediately received the following message: “the Plex server is not available. please log in to anaother account”. The problem is that I don't have another Plex account.

I would like to point out that my two Plex servers are perfectly accessible both on my local network and from outside. I have done several factory resets of my Zidoo but nothing worked

Now I am on v1.1.47_G and I can finally link Zidoo Plex to my Plex account.

I then see my 2 servers but when I click to any of the two servers Plex shutdown and I am brought back to the music menu

If you have any idea for a solution, I am very, very, very interested

Plex user here, I don’t have your problem with the native Plex app but if you don’t already know about it, you can try ZDMC 20.2+ZidooPlexMod 0.3.10+PlexToZidoo 2.8 as explained in this thread to access your Plex server:

is the z9x 8k worth it over the z9x pro if you don't have 8k video,s or Tv? the z9x pro seems to work good for me, except its a little slow doing things due to the bpd chipset, is this as snappy as bpd chipset can be? how is the snappiness of the z9x 8k? it has a 5 core instead of a 4 core but im assuming the 928x probably is a lot more more powerful cpu grunt wise?

I have a massive collection of DVDs ripped in ISO, they are all tagged in HT5 as Bluray.
Do you think is there a solution to get them tagged as DVDs ?

Does anyone know if the latest Plex Android TV APK works with this and the internal player on these or only the Zidoo Plex app?

And if I'm using the Zidoo Plex app, does it have the sidebar with all your server set up categories like Movies, documentaries, tv shows, music, etc. or are you limited to their sorting functions within the app?

I didn't use HT4.0 long on my Z9X before moving on to Jellyfin because the poster loading choked so hard on my 6000+ title library and was unusable, but iirc HT4.0 seemed to just jumble all my movies in with my documentaries and TV Shows jumbled in with my Documentary shows even though they're all in separate folders. Stand up comedy and concerts mixed in there too. It didn't seem like it allowed you to have different set categories for them and you were at the mercy of their sorting and what they classified as a documentary, etc., BUT my memory could also be wrong. Basically, I want it to respect my current fold structure and my memory is foggy on what it allowed.

Yes, all of them

 

For me I put VIDEO_TS dvd rips in a separate folder named dvd. Yes if ripped as iso comes up Blu-ray on ht5. In other words keep DVDs in their own folder separate from other formats.
